ARRRRGGGHHH

im just wondering, but do al,l you guys have normal, sensible people on your MSN / yahoo messenger list, or do you add all the people you know at school /work?

its just that every time i log onto MSN, i get 500 messages from people i dont like saying "Hi, how you doing" and talking to me about crappy flash games and shit. I DONT CARE!!!

just today i got this message:
A little girl died tonight in the most horrible way possible, and she weeps in her mothers house. If you dont send this message to 12 different people, she will rise a s a corpse and watch over you as you sleep at midnight.
note: some people may find this FU**ING ANNOYING so dont read it :)

anyway, its this kindof worthless spam that gets around MSN, so i say we should nuke them! nuke them all!!!

(note: im actually pretty pissed off with the note above, i CBA to send it tto 12 people and i have a terrible feeling im gonna feel something clawing at my leg at midnight... ARRRGHHHH I HATE MSN ****TARDS)

Yeah, i get this allot. It usually comes from people you know's friends, who are just general msners, those people whom with the conversation goes :

"hi, hows you?"
"fine thanks, you?"
"im fine, what you up to?"
"ah nothing, you?" (things they wouldnt understand since they cant use pc's to save their lives, and they'll just call you a geek :o )
"not allot"
"ok then"

etc etc.. utterly boring, rubbish conversation with someone who doesnt even know you, every so often they'll send you a message as you thus described, but the ones that really get on my nerves are the , "put this in my screename or your have a crap love life" and them messages really piss me off, even more so than Spam.

Yes they are idiot msn 'tards, but all you can do is block them. They are usually nice people in real life though, nobody would come up to you in the street and say if you dont tel 10 ppl they have nice hair you're get piles or something.
it might just be a British, 'im bored il get on msn and annoy people' thing.

while im ranting, another thing i cant stand is peoples use of txt spk in msn convo's (and the net in general, infact, Any text speak pisses me off)... c'mon people, if you are going to use a computer, learn to type!!

I feel your pain man :D

All my MSN buddies are great people, it's about not adding all those lamers who spam you and tell you to spread on stuff. :)

I'm going to do that to you right now :) :p

I hate you ;(

HAHA is your BEAK itchy? Or are you missing your EYES?

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(crazy will understand, unfortunately no-one else will :p)

Ha, I remember when someone sent me that exact same message a while back.

I asked him "She's going to watch me sleep? So what? That's not scary. I'd understand if she was going to claw my eyes out or something but I probably wouldn't even know if she was watching me. I'd just wake up in the morning".

I thought thats what the block this user option was for. :p

:O They sound like these two girls who added me...I've never even met them before, but they were annoying people. They kept sending those messages as well.

While we're on the subject of msn, anyone who wants to add me can

[email protected]

I won't cry if anyone spams it to death, I need a more.....appropriate one now anyway :p

I'm sure you could block them but I thing you really like the attention!

whats with the CaPiTaL thing going on?
it's pathetic. Although, if you block the people, they take it personally... when you do see them in real life, wether you like them as a person or not, they'll have that against you.

[Edit] I assume most people are exactly the same (except these people mentioned above), i am, just quieter in real life :p

So you guys purposely add annoying people on your friends list... ?

Arrrr...

Most people I talk to on AIM I actually know or are people from here or online games... plus one other person. :P

I think it's interesting how some people can seem so different online... and yet some people seem exactly the same...

I add people from school, and most of the time they stay quiet. but occasionally the get on my nerves :flame:

like oldagerocker said, you cant block them because then in real life they'd be like "why did you block me?" etc. etc.

although there is this one kid called monty who is the most annoying msn ****** youve ever known, so tommorrow me and a mate are gonna team up on him and pretend to be some hard guys from our school (make new emails) and message him saying we're gonna beat him up after school. it could potentially end up a bit nasty... but this guy is the most ANNOYING MSN ****** EVER

:P

what is skype?
i cant stand MSN Messenger 6.2, i dont like the pictures, the boxes take up too much space on the screen and everyone wants to play stupid games with you. Although, i used to use Windows Messenger all the time, i found it annoying it not having the "busy" mode when in fullscreen applications.

I used something called Miranda Messenger for awihle, which was a small program taht you put plugins into, but it had some features missing which i used to make people familiar with me, such as font and colour.

Haha, see... AIM is better because it won't outright tell them that you've blocked them... they'll just think you never sign on! :D

naa, msn messanger is the same, just people tend to know when youve blocked them as they will never see you online for ages... especially me, who's allways on msn :p

I never get junk like that through IM's since not that many people have my screen name... but I did get this scary message from some girl that I don't know who claimed that my screen name randomly appeared in her buddy list. Right.... but the scary part was that she knows what school I go to. And I don't know who the heck it is! She asked, "Do you go to [my school]?" Me: "Uhh. What's your name?" Her: "I asked you first." Me: "Well I'm not the one who randomly IM'ed you because your screen name 'appeared' on my buddy list... !" So I just stopped responding at that point... I didn't want some psycho girl hunting me down.

As for the "Send this to 1000 people or this will happen to you!" messages, I only get those through email from my friends. They usually have some sappy story about love or friendship or something like that, and then say stupid crap like "send this back to whoever sent it to you to show how much you care about them!!!" (I never send them back, just to show how very much I care... :D) or "If you don't send this to anyone, you'll be alone for life! If you send this to 5 people, you'll be alone for a month! If you send this to 2000000 people, you'll find your true love tomorrow!!!!!!!" How lame. The only good thing is that I get to laugh insanely at them for 2 seconds.

I've used MSN messenger and have never recieved anything like the messages you describe.....

Maybe i don't just add everyone i've ever heard of, or give my MSN handle to everyone i know :|

And face those "why did you block me/why aren't you online anymore (the latter for the dumbasses too stupid to understand that they are blocked)" when you see them again in real life? Nah.
I'm on Away most of the time anyway, if I feel like responding then I'll respond, if not, I'll have the excuse of 'I was on away'.

Can't believe I'm actually discussing my msn habits here...

Wouldnt it be better if these people could use IRC? everyone could avoid the #usher (or wherever else these people habitate) channels.

Edit : I wondered why my ex-girlfriend never signed on again... :(

So that's what happened to that guy in my physics class who was supposed to be working on a project with me and one day just signed off and never got on again! Gah, he never comes to class and almost screwed up my team's project. I can't believe he blocked me for that :flame:

well i don't have many pple on my MSN list.. so.. um i dunno what u pple are talking about :P

TAnother annoying thing people do is message you when your status is clearly set to "BUSY" or "AWAY". i mean, cant these people read? some people get really pissed off with me for not replying (hello, hello, why arent you answering? do you not like me? etc. etc.) and its annoying to see that people cant read your status :flame:

I know a couple of girls who do that. I blocked them :)

They added me for.. no apparent reason.. I get that a lot

Bloody tehfluffyness :o

Anyone here is free to add me to MSN and chat, I'm cool with that, just I'm often rather busy, but I'll always try and make time for people :D

I have 43 contacts online currently, 108 offline.

Sweet jesus 151 contacts! If that's a reflection of other member's contact lists no wonder people get spammed!!

I'd rather have a small group of close friends than a large group of aquaintances, which is reflected in my short list of *opens MSN messenger* 26 contacts. Woah, that's more than i thought!

ComradeBadger said:
I use MsgPlus, extends all stuff like that :)
God forbid you having to remove one of those 151 contacts from your list! :)

Ah, yeah I know it, used it a while back with msn 4, but found it a waste of space. I'm currently at 125, but I have lots of duplicates, same people with 2 or more addresses.

That's another thing I hate, why do people think it's needed to make a new address every few months? Pisses me off.

Hmm... I think there might be some big bucks to be made if you make a user friendly messenger for the IRC network with the possibility of adding buddies and easily joining 1 to 1 conversations.
