I think we will, they need something that will blow everyone away.

I hope we will lol

But something tell me we won't

If we do it will be great , might make Valve look a lil better :D

They might throw a few hints around and if were lucky a screen shot or two, but I suspect a real preview won't come until E3 2005.

P.S. This belongs in general gaming. :)

My guess is that they will just say something on HL2 again, but TF2 is highly possible because Valve has said that they will announce TF2 "after HL2 announcing" or something like that(?) ... but you know the trustworthiness of Valve's statements ;p

they will talk about TF2 after hl2 is in our hands. plus it's not on vivendi's list for e3 `04. maybe they will just give us some hints about it.-

It's not on Vivendi's list, because Vivendi won't be publishing it HL2 is Valve's last game with Sierra/VU. After that, they've got a deal with Activision.

Interesting news PiMuRho. I guess Sierra/VU dont like the whole steam deal too much... :p

Well, thats one though on the subject.

As for TF2. I don't know but I sure hope so. :D

remeber valve has two areas were there setting up things. perhaps one for Half-life 2 and one for TeamFortress 2. just somthing to ponder.

actually, they have THREE, because ati is also showcasing HL2

Its not strictly a HL2 presentation.

its just what ATI can do in game, and HL2 happens to be the game.

Yeah i agree with Fleko. Sadly I doubt they will be showing TF2 at E3 when they showcase HL2 again. They are prolly gonna show it during a mod expo or something a couple months after HL2 is out.

I didn't know that Pi, very interesting. Activision is okay... I guess.

I don't think Valve is gonna risk drawing any attention away from HL2 by showing TF2, that would be competing with your own products.

I dunno, the ATi press release states:

The next wave of interactive entertainment comes to life at the ATI booth (#1608) during the 2004 Electronic Entertainment Expo. ATI will present the first public viewing of its latest graphics technology, highlight the hottest unreleased gaming titles, lift the lid off next-generation gaming machines and unleash a full-on preview of Half-Life® 2.

Last I checked, a "full-on preview" is more than a display of their graphics cards. You're probably right though

Activision published DoD IIRC, guess VALVe was pleased with them?

Out of curiosity, where did you hear that? Do you have like a link to a press release or something? That would be awsome!

It would have to be close to finishing of HL2 for TF2 info to start trickling out.
Do you think We'll have to wait a couple years for TF2 after hl2comes out?

They scrapped the old build, unless they just imported it into the source.

or two, one for valve and one for ati (no tf2)

omg w00t I love activision...beacuse they love M games.... sofII w00t

why does Valve need someone like Activision , what do they do in the process?

Activision will handle all the marketing, PR and distribution (People are always going to want boxed copies - the majority of the games-buying public don't even play online, so Steam won't be an option for them)

Sure, Valve could do that themselves, but why bother? It's more work and expense for them.

Activision are v good imo, they have done a great job with call of duty.
What do u think the chance is of cs2 being released with hl2, yknow with all this mystery about the multiplayer, valve could have a killer up their sleeve.

yah its been rumored that the cs team has been working on something for a while now with nothing being said about it. i think it might be 'cs2' as well

I highly doubt CS2 will be the multiplayer, make no mistake I think that would be friggin awesome but it's just not gonna happen. Regardless of how much Valve loves their community, they would not pass up the HUGE sales a stand-alone, retail version of CS2 would most certainly garner them.

I get the feeling HL2 multiplayer is gonna disappoint alot of people what with all of the hopes that it's gonna be TF2 or CS2. It'd be great if it was either one of them but it's gonna kick ass just having the good old Half-Life flavored Deathmatch gameplay on the Source engine imo.

well considering their being so tight lipped about it, one must think it's going to be rather spectacular. but who knows, maybe theyre just keeping quiet about it for no reason :)

HL2/Valve Locations in bold.

ATI Technologies Inc. South Hall 1608
ATI Technologies Inc. Kentia Hall 7037
ATI Technologies Inc. Kentia Hall 7041
ATI Technologies Inc. Kentia Hall 7040

Valve Software South Hall 1200
Valve Software Kentia Hall 7625

so that's 3 booths potentially about HL2. Kentia hall booths are generally quieter, and Kentia isn't used for the big main event booths. They are generally showcasing new technology, or different things to be licensed. Hence ATI's 3 booths in Kentia. I believe the Valve booth in Kentia will be to promote Source Licensing.

Yeh valve could make alot of money if cs2 and tf2 were released stand alone, mind you the people who subscribe to vavle will prob get them for free.
CS2 imo would take alot of attention at e3 so it may be a good idea to use this to show what else the source engine can do? If cs works brilliantly on source, whats gonna stop companys wanting to use source for their games, im hoping for cod2 on a next gen engine =)

It's not a rumor. There was even a video a while back of Gooseman talking about CS's success and it showed him making a weapon model for CS2. Anyone have a link to that?
