Last run for Tennant! LAST RUN FOR DAVIES! Too bad it's other-universe Cybermen. It's ****ing stupid. "The rift it closed forever, again, until we feel like opening it again to bring back Billie Piper."

God I hate mumbles-lisp. What a horrible companion.

Not last run. He's still got 5 hours left. This is just the first of those. Unless that's what you meant...

And seriously man, **** you. I was just about to come make this thread.

@Dalamari: Prime-time Christmas Day. It's got the second highest ratings every Christmas for the last three years, just behind Eastenders.

And therein lies the sad, sorry state of mainstream television.

Samon you've poisoned Shippi's mind with your negativity!

Samon isn't wrong, this madness with Dr Who needs to stop, it's out of control. Your life will improve soon after I assure you.

Actually David Tennant is still going to be around for the other specials in the year. It's after that whaen he won't be the Doctor any more. Steven Moffet is taking over for the next proper series, so Russ will still be writing some of the specials.

Nah I agree with Samon. I like Doctor who but the majority of the time if the episode isn't a season finale it usually ends up being crap (even then some finales were also ***** like season 3 finale)

I'll be watching wallace and gromit on xmas day

Is it sad that I'm most looking forward to the cliffhanger at the end and the reveal of the Easter Special's title?

I'd say it is sad because you're not looking forward to the rest of the episode!
I just hope I'm not going to be watching it on my own this year like last year. When the Christmas Invasion (2005) was on the whole family watched it; when The Runaway Bride (2006) was on just me and my brother watched it; last year when Voyage of the Damned was on I was watching it on my own and it kind of annoyed me that Christmas Doctor Who was something that, at first, the family watched altogether and became something that no one, except me, bothered to watch. It just dissappoints me.

Agreed. I'm turning into one of those fans. *shudder*

Nothing will stop me from enjoying it! :E But the prospect of the first hint of a 4 hour long arc featuring the Master is too much for a mere mortal like me.

Hmm, I'd say it more sad you expect everyone to have the same arse taste as yourself:p

Ooooo, tssss, burn, call a medic! But you're right. It is sad (read: :() that I expect other people to have such high standards when, alas, most are prone to enjoy the mediocre and the mundane.

:burp:

Would you think that Christmas Eastenders is better than Christmas Doctor Who, then, Samon? If you had to pick one to watch, which would you choose?

Obviously I think they're both horse shit, but you know, Dr. Who - the lesser of the two evils. Pat Butcher or David Tennant? Is that even a choice?

Why does Samon have to come and ruin every thread we ever make on Doctor Who. ;(

But the prospect of the first hint of a 4 hour long arc featuring the Master is too much for a mere mortal like me.

I didn't know that. Source please?

It's not so much confirmed. Just several rumours point to it. And considering Daleks and Davros have been done to death, followed by Cybermen, who else could it be?
The main sources of info come from the Doctor Who Forum. Not sure you can access it without subscribing.

There's also some heavy rumours regarding who Doc 11 is, apparently he signed the dotted line yesterday:
Chiwetel Ejiofor

Potential announcement sometime tomorrow.

How can Samon inspire your love for him when he hates Doctor Who, especially seeing as you're such a big fan.

When it started off I thought that yer man would turn out to the First Doctor, but even then I predicted who he was before it was revealed. Russel T Davies at his most rediculous. The woman explodes Cybermen with her voice. And why do the other universe Cybermen have the same equipment as Doctor-universe Cybermen?

I'm guessing that the CyberKing falls through the Time Vortex and lands on Mondas at some point before December 1986. So just to really stick the middle-finger up to fandom, it was the alt-Universe Cybermen that inspired the creation of our ones. But I doubt it would come to pass. :(

"Nothing can survive in the Void" - The Doctor, Army of Ghosts
"These Cybermen escaped from the Void" - The Doctor, The Next Doctor

Umm... I guess it's a way of retconning to say that they could survive but not exactly do anything. Although how they got hold of that Dalek technology, I will never know. And does the collapse of the Void mean all the Daleks in there escaped too? Hmm...

Also, how did the Cybers get info on pre-Ten Doctors? I guess they plundered the Torchwood archives when they invaded.

Anyway, I thought it was an excellent episode. Morrisey was magical, Kirwan was amazing and the "sonic screwdriver" and the "TARDIS" had my whole family in fits of laughter, even those who only watch Who on Christmas Day. The 10 Doctors being data-stamped onto the wall was a truly fantastic moment.

All in all, it's the best Christmas special since 2005's The Christmas Invasion and it possibly even surpasses it - will require further watching.

Roll on Planet of the Dead!

"Look at what you've become!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"
BANG

It was good until the guy turned out to just be a nut who jammed a laser pointer in his eye

I was kind of glad the other guy wasn't a "proper" Doctor, otherwise that would've been embarressing and I'm sure the Doctor would've tried to put off regeneration for as long as possible!

Wallace and Gromit was my favourite show on Christmas Day.

the last series was no-where-near as good as the other ones. this episode was just as bad.
