DOD:S Preload

Steam did two quick updates when steam started today. When the second one started I brought up the download monitor and it said it was uploading Day of Defeat: Source!

The download didnt last more than about 30 seconds though. Maybe a big one to come later?

i care. dod is a great game, and it wont be just water effects, it will be a complete makeover like CS:S, textures lighting and most importantly physics.

yea I got an update yesturday evening.... nothing really big... did take a little while (like 1-2 mins) to update... no cleu what it was though

To Steam, DoD:S currently only comprises the shared Source content. This is already on our computers 'cause of CS:S. So, if there's an update to the Shared Source content, then it can show up as an update to DoD:S, even though we don't have any real DoD:S content downloaded yet.

The RCON packet fix was to the source engine, so it showed up as a DoD:S update. Really, it should have shown up as a CS:S or HL2 update.

DOD:S has its own forum.

Allthough theres allready a thread about it there. Looking forward to the game coming out, I doubt this preload was much though.
