DOD Source Problems!!!

My mate's bought Day of Defeat Source and when he clicks on it to load it, it crashes at the start up screen. HL2 doesn't load at all.

He's got the hardware to run it but it doesn't seem to work.

We've tried everything we can think of, anyone got any tips?

hmmm........i know this is kinda a last resort but did u try re-installing DOD:S?
or steam?
