ok here's my greef when im in a server and i try to make a graphical change to my game ie:resolution/aa/shader settings/or somthing along them lines mt game crashes to desktop and i get an error message saying could not secure mesh in dx8 mode but my game is set to dx9 on hardware and software.
any help please

Yeah, that's an error some people get. But it should be fixed by now :|
Try validating your game: steam://validate/240

You shouldn't be changing your graphics mid-game anyway, just do it before you join a game.
