The Day Of Defeat fansite DODInfos has posted an interview with John Morello from the Day Of Defeat: Source team. The interview, whilst remaining very general, answers some common questions around the development and release of DOD:Source. Here's a tidbit:

Q. What was the reason behind the decision to add HDR to DOD: Source? Also do you think HDR brings anything to the game-play itself or is it just simply cosmetic?[br]
John Morello II: Something we always keep in mind when creating features or technology here at Valve is will all of our products benefit from the investment. HDR was no different. It's one of those things that you get spoiled by very quickly. I remember a point where there was a bug and HDR wasn't working for that days' playtest, and immediately the world felt like it had lost something. It just wasn't as rich, and nearly everyone I spoke to after the test made a comment about it.

It's nice to hear they listen to the community :)

So basically they stepped it up on a beta, good job....
wait.
don't all dev's do that?

"We had to make some tough choices, and cut some elements that have been around for quite some time. "

Why does this scare me so much?

Edit: Oh god, wheres the bayonet? It better not just be yet another gun butt attack. The bayonet was awesome.
