I dont know if this is the right forum to ask

but the new gen consoles (ps3,360) looks acceptable on a normal no hd tv?

I ask for obvious reason

cuz I remnber seeing that sometimes the letters on menus and such looked very blurry in normal tv, and since getting a hd is not easily avaible for me, and I already have a normal one,I have been geting worried

Nothing to worry about.

They look fine. It's people who were trying to get creative on their TV/console settings that saw blurry text.

The only game I've ever had a problem with, problem being that it is on a normal TV, is Dead Rising.. You can't read what anyone is saying because the words (only when survivors speak) are tailored for HD. Other then that one problem (which you could learn to read, I have) with that one game, it's perfectly fine.

Can anyone with a PS3 (or at least a 360) take some pictures of their console on an average menu and in-game on their SDTV? I'm planning on getting a PS3 sometime after christmas, and will be using my current SDTV until I can get an HDTV a while later.

yes I remenber that

another thing is that some games seen to have widescreen as default and in a litle 4:3 tv it looks kind of annoying

Well, I use my Xbox 360 on my normal little Matsui TV and it looks fine if I turn up colour, contrast, brightness and sharpness at max which isn't very hard to do and the graphics look great quality. I, like many, was wowed by the graphical quality and detail of games such as Gears of War and Perfect Dark Zero. IMO, HD may look nice but it's not worth the trouble and money of getting one.

I have seen a lot of people complaining about the looks of games on standard TV's. I've never gotten that because I assume the models, effects and pretty much everything else except the res is there, plus it should play with higher fps. Does it have to do with some weird scaling problem or do games get a lot of aliasing?

The 360 looks just fine running on standard definition.

Besides, the only difference I truly see when using Hi-Def is on Samsung HDTV's.

(My TV is a Sharp, but I've seen games being played on a Samsung and the quality is so much better).

I no longer have a SDTV but I remember the text being extremely small and hard to read on certain games. That was the only major problem. But I sure do love my HDTV :D

It was really bad in the games I played on my TVs, so I bought the VGA adapter and have been very satisfied with it.
