Everyone says that the models are unchaged but some say it uses BS models. Ive never play BS, so how much better would the textures be?

According to a magazine review, it uses BS models. Don't expect a massive improvement though :)

I was just comparing some screenshots from gamespot of HL/BS and while its not that much of an upgrade, I would still be much happier with it than just original HL graphics. Is there any other sources or confirmation other than pcgamer that says HLSource will use Blue Shift(High Definition Pack) textures?

its new weapon, i got few weeks ago a screenshot of the new crossbow, damn its gorgeous :D

I have HL:S. Don't listen to those retarded magazines, it does NOT use the blue shift models. It uses all the same models, textures, and sprites as the original exept for water and explosions.

Yeah it doesn't use BS models in any way, it's all original HL models. However at the HL:Improvement site you can pick up quite a few PS2 models and replace them with those. Apparently ragdolls don't currently work with them, but they are a much higher quality in terms of textures and polys. By the way, it's not only the explosions and water that are new. The lighting is source lighting, it has ragdoll physics, it uses HL2 shadows, and it also uses some mapping, like shiny surfaces on metal doors etc.

But yeah I downloaded a pack of the PS2 models from the Half-Life Improvement site. I'm sure there was a topic on this not long ago that had a link.

i didnt bother getting HL:S
Damn good job 2, seing as it will be rendered crap next 2 the beutifull BM:S

I can't remember but i found this replacement thing that put the BS models into the HLs thing

I haven't even bothered opening it yet, I've played HL1 through a dozen times already and just seeing new water and explosions won't do it for me.

But seriously, whoever revived this thread is ****ing the dead. Friggin' necrophiliac.

I still have the trouble finding the difference between HL:S and HL......
