You might want to invest in a new motherboard/processor (1.4ghz is a little slow) and a nice video card (correct me if i'm wrong but your just running off the mobo now?) , but other than that, I think your all set!

you definately need to get a brand name vid card. supported chipsets of hl2 are nvidia and ati only. your sis wont even run it. your processor is pretty slow, but if you dont have the money for both, then you can still run it, just slow. i have an xp 2000+ and it runs medium stuff fairly well. but you will need a new graphics card

You need an actual video card. Seriously, if you are going to play real games on your PC, you need a video card to do it. You are using onboard graphics which are there just so you can view simple applications and movies, but gaming requires real hardware.

I was running it on an Athlon 1.6 w/a 9600 Pro and it ran great w/settings of 800X600. I ended up upgrading, but as everyone here is suggesting, you will need to invest in a better video card.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, you could get a mid-range video card for ~$150 that would allow you to play.
