Anyone had any experience in this field? I'm looking into selling a few old domains I've gathered over the years. They are mainly gaming related such as halflife3.co.uk, cs-source.net, etc. I am interested also what Halflife2.net might be worth now :) The only offer I've had for it so far has been £23,000 but I wonder what someone might be willing to pay for it.

wow £23,000 is allot... but then i guess if you sold it, it'd get full of advertisements and such that the person behind it would eventually make the money back.

halflife3.co.uk... ?? why? ;(

I'll buy that for a dollor.

Munro, do the honest thing and sell Hl2.net, I'd be happy to lose my hunter grounds if it makes someone rich.

I doubt I'll sell Halflife2.net unless I get a hell of a lot for it ;)

I do want to sell a few old ones though.

I think you've past the point where the hl2.net domain would be worth the most :(. Longer you leave it now the less its gonna make. I did say to wait and sell it a few months ago, I got ignored :p

Buy up Unreal domains if you can find any left, they'll be worth a fortune soon :)

btw if you are thinking about selling Halflife3.co.uk does this mean you're not going to have a similar community to halflife2.net? In other words you gonna scrap the idea or get a different domain. Don't make us sad pandas

We'll be using a better domain then halflife3.co.uk, not many people like UK domain names.

Hazar - maybe a bit more? :)

Don't sell HL2.net! The new owners will then sell this site to JAMSTER ADVERTISING!

Ah good to hear a definite future. Last thing/rumour i heard was you were in talks with vivendi for halflife3.net?

Personally i think it'd be better to hold onto halflife3.co.uk till its getting closer, then the demand will kick in, and you can afford to raise the price. Although i pains me to say it, halflife2.net maybe should go.

I imagine you could get quit alot of money from cs-source.net

Getting a Unreal domain would be cool, CB and I were thinking of a kind of Unreal community some time ago, but nothing really happened with that idea.. He was sort of interested in only creating an extreme site for professional players.. (*cough*OP4DM) :p

But still, an Unreal domain would be really popular as UE3 draws closer, and it'd become very valuable as well.

Halflife2.net would like TDE said probably only lose its value as you hang onto it, we still got the community and all, so personally I don't think it'd be that much of a problem if you moved on.

CS-Source would prolly be easy to sell, it's a good domain name and CS:S is really popular.

$10?

(hey, this could turn into an auction :p)

what's the full list of one's your selling?

Rofl Munro -- I just went to halflife3.co.uk today and I saw a hl3 logo and a link to the halflife3.co.uk forums. Sadly I now see that you sold it. I did a whois and "Matthew Webster" owns the domain now. Isnt Matt Webster a Game developer for burnout? Maybe its a different one.

Boohoo I was hoping to be registered on the forums early.

*puts on flame retardent suit* Sorry for bumping a thread that is over a 15 months old.

This thread gave me a real sense of deja vu, then I thought
"Holy shit, Burn, Farrowlesparrow and TDE are back!"
Then I looked at the post dates.

Bloody hell i saw Farrowlesparrow and thought balance had been restored to the force...pfft. The thread bumper, hang him from the bridge!

How the hell do you ppl not realize it's a bumped thread immediately :/

I've never once thought tde or farrow were back in a bumped thread
