The game world is ****ed.

When the server was transferred to the new hardware, apparently the whitelist was not kept intact, unbeknown to me(I didn't think to check at the time.)

Most of our buildings near spawn are completely destroyed and burnt down etc.

I sent an e-mail off to Steve, but honestly I'm getting completely fed up with this right now. I'm at my wits end and I can't take this shit anymore. I have not been able to really access most of the features that I was told I would be able to get ahold of, and our server is suffering for it.

I'm worried that when Steve reverts the world(something I should be able to do myself), and enables the whitelist, we're going to have the very same "connection error end of stream" error we had before.

If that happens... this is the end of this server for us... and we're getting a refund. I mean honestly, I can't take it anymore. It's been nearly a third of a month already and we've had so many issues and no uptime.

So please, do not log into the server right now... you will only cause yourself frustrations seeing the world in the griefed state it's in.

The game is kind of still in alpha so aren't these kind of issues to be expected?

I don't play on your server much but that sucks guys :(

Except you did, I thought. I'm sure I recall you telling someone to log off, removing them from whitelist, and seeing if they could log in. You said it was working then, so... what's changed between then and now? :|

Weird.

These aren't game issues, they're server issues. Not to say that the game being in alpha doesn't make things more difficult to set up, but if we were running fine on Hokey's computer then there's hardly an excuse for a dedicated VPS to have these kinds of issues, especially when the service is specifically tailored towards Minecraft.

What the dick! Jeezus Christ that's bloody awful.

It's almost like we need a box made of bedrock built around the spawn and new players must be teleported out by the admins or something.

Wow, I just visited the server (first time after the move actually) and it must have taken quite some time set all those buildings on fire. Did one person do all this?

Personally, I don't care that much, because we can revert to an earlier save and I haven't built anything since the last save that I would lose during reverting, nor am I addicted to Minecraft and frustrated that playing on the server is pointless now. However I feel sorry for anyone that will lose something in the process and/or would just like to hop on the server as part of their daily routine and have some fun, but can't right now.

Perhaps someone could make a Cartograph render of this post-apocalyptic world?

To be honest I'd like to restart the server from scratch once the halloween update is out, but I'm sure a lot of people would dislike this.

I've been having problems for ages, if i go to the spawn area, my game crashes. This is on 2 different machines BTW, and started ages before hokey stopped hosting.

It wasnt even a problem with /warp either, if i walked to spawn the game would crash (i mean the client would actually crash).

I did point this out, since i was ok with not going to spawn and no one else seemed to have problems i didn't make a fuss.

I say we just start again, i really have nothing else i want to do other than start over.

Seems it was the world that was corrupt.

Weird.

What happened, is that he changed hardware AGAIN since then. and bumped us up with 2 more gigs of ram free.
