I have been spying on the GPGnet for the last hour, and people (I know for a fact in the UK) who have bought the special edition of Supreme Commander, who have got tech trees and maps that are in French. I'll just quickly bring up the quote from GAME

Dear Supreme-Commander-In-Training,

I am writing to inform you of a problem with your Supreme Commander Aeon Faction Edition order.

It has come to our attention that due to a mix-up at the THQ Logistics Corps, you have been furnished with a French language map with your copy of the game.

Those responsible for this terrible error are now cooling their heels in the Brig awaiting Court Marshall. Meanwhile, we are set to receive new maps, in English, and will despatch them to you as soon as we can. Via Carrier Pigeon. Or Royal Mail.

We would also like to inform you of a printing error at the... umm... THQ Disc Printing Corps. As a result the Disc you have received reads "Bonus UEF Faction DVD". The data on this disc however, is perfect – do not worry, it is indeed the Aeon Faction Edition Disc – THE INTEGRITY OF THIS DATA IS UNCOMPROMISED.

I'm glad that I cancel my pre-order at the last minute as I don't get paid next week, and it was suppose to come by mail-order.

I'll tell you what, of all the f*ck-ups that can happen at a games release, this was the least expected for me. Has anybody bought the game yet?
 
Well i had ordered the standard edition from Amazon, and got a French map =/

Not going to bother returning it or anything though, just want to game! :D
 
I guess I don't understand. Someone put it in 5 year old terms for me. I preorderd.
 
For the UK people who had pre-ordered the map/tech-tree that comes with the game is in French :|
 
Well not if i hijack your order and swap my French map for your English one :D
 
Germany seems to be safe at the moment. But then again, I'm guessing they are fine with the David Hasselhoff Poster that came with their copies of the game ;)
 
I wasn't planning on getting Supreme Commander anyways. I'm waiting on C&C3 to provide my RTS fix.

On the other hand, if the overwhelming opinion is that it is awesome, I'll think about picking it up. But next month is gonna be a big one for gaming (C&C, Guitar Hero on 360, Shivering Isles Expansion).
 
Ah can't wait to see how C&C3 and SupCom fare coming out so close to each other!
 
Do americans get any nice special edition at all? I was totally looking forward to putting a galactic map above my 2 monitors, and completely nerd out with my command center.
 
I just want to know one thing, is the game faster on xp or faster on vista ?

Since I am considering getting vista and the fact that s c is a vista ready

any clues ?

just a thought
 
Since Vista takes more resources, I'm betting it's XP is faster...but hell, all in all, I doubt you'll be able to tell, if much.
 
Ugh. I went to open up the beta today and realized it was closed. I then went to play CoH and immediatley tried to zoom out and hit my head against the invisible glass ceiling. :( Then I tried to que up hundreds of units and realized that I have to pre-pay for them. I ended up losing miserably.

I miss supcom.

btw, if you want to play the beta against ai's, add /map SCMP_009 or one of the map names to your target of your beta shortcut. So mine looks like:

"C:\Program Files\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Beta\Supreme Commander\bin\SupremeCommander.exe" /map SCMP_015

Uh...dude? Go and lame somewhere else.

As for me, I got two tech trees. One in French, one in English =D I don't think there is an actual "collectors edition" as such. Just faction packs. There was a guy who got one that had a drink and everything, though, so I dunno what that one was.
 
it came out today in aus and i just got it !

man, this is one of the best special editions i've bought in awhile; bonus disc, metal case, 3 huge posters, big map, 3 race card thingys, etc. ^______^ i don't care what anyone says, especially girls, i'm so putting up these posters and wearing the 'badge' thingy.

hard to believe ta came out ~ 10 years ago, supreme commander has so much to live up to though the beta/demo was good so chris taylor can once again have my first born, or a kidney.

anyway, it's installing now, time to take a break from coh.
