P.S. I understand there is another thread already on this. However most things get overlooked and also I dont think these fit into that thread very well.

Moved to art and design, these qualify as art, and not garrysmod messing around, if you want to post more, use this thread as your "art thread"
 
Very nicely done with the color, style and settings. They do set a different mood than other Gary mod pictures. They feel like the game feels. Downbeaten and depressing. Good job dude!

Different styles. In fact, Alix, you should make them into Wallpapers, they would look good

Name it "The Portfolio of Oppression" and I'll name mine "The Portfolio of Depression" MUWAHAHAHA :D
 
Make some happy ones. Like Gordan and Alyx together, as they should be, with the combine caught and held captive. Or all the combine dead and Gordon towering above them about to strike one with his gun in a blood lust (kinda like First Contact, but more agressive)
 
Many of those pictures can be used as wallpappers, givven they are put on strech/center. Its the main reason I made them in the first place.(Though, come to think of it, they're mostly in widescreen, so it might not work.)

I already have plenty of ideas in my head for Gordon, however there are no good gordon models/ragdolls yet.

I know a fella made a gordon model not too long ago, but it just doesnt look right in my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestions, though I highly doubt I can make a portfolio out of just game screenshots. I do already have a portfolio though. Been a Digital Artist for 5+ years now.

Cool! You must know a lot more than me then! I've been tampering with Photoshop and 3dsmax for only 3 and a half years! :D Teach me something pleeeaaaaseeee :)
 
Wow, i love the stye. The images are both artistic yet have a strong sense of profound opression. make more :D
 
You should make a masterpiece, encorporating all your current ideas and making it into one big image based around Half-Life 2 (and don't forget the G-man)
 
They are well cool :D , i like the way they protray an emotion :p
heres an idea script scenes in hl2 maps protraying emotional scenes vid them :O

However thats really hard, but if u got teh skills would be cool ,

Very very nice...can't waot for more, you could make a whole galery. In fact, you could make a comic...
 
I'm digging the scripting idea in HL2, make mini movies of this stuff.
The fight, the capture, the execution.

Would probably all be around 10-20 minutes long though.

Nope, i'm really carefull about that actualy. If your talking about the guy on the left, he just got shot in the head and the picture is just taken as his body falls back to the ground.

Also, I came to the realisation that most pictures may be EXTREMELY dark on some peoples monitors.
I personaly run on a nice bright LCD screen, so thus I can make everything out fine.

If you cant make out what alot is going on in my pictures, boost your monitor brightness up a bit untill you can see alright. If you're on a old/broken monitor and still cant see jack then lemme know, i'll send you some enhanced pics.

The darkness adds to the mysteriousness, I kind've like it :)
 
Do they all have to be of the rebels losing? Can we not see some comebacks some time? :)
 
@ Cremator: Who said he was headshott'ed? Could just be blood on the face.

@ Druckles: I figured this question would come along. I plan on doing rabellion version of some of these. I just thought since the original HL2 had mostly rebels winning over the Combine, it would be interesting to see something more along the lines of what we didint see.

No, like I said, I just wanted to make what we DIDINT see. The other areas where the rebels may have not been so successfull.

I love combines being blown to peices too :|
 
I loved combines when they are already blown to pieces...(which was not possible in HL2, meh! :( )
