doom 3 mp crazy lag!

Alright- I got a new comptuter(3.6ghz 2gb ram and x850xt pe) I put doom3 on it and i loaded up multiplayer. all the pings in the list were above 500 (my connection is cable 4mb) I joined one and it was crazy lag with ping 500 and my fps 1-3 constantly and cant move at all. I repeated this above 8 times including joining empty servers and getting same lag. But if i start my own server or singleplayer, i get 100+fps and do fine. I plugged directly in modem- disabled all firewalls- same effect. :\ My old computer had fine running it. why not the new one? I did everything i could. any help?

sounds very strange ....with your spec, you should be able to render the entirity of toy story 3.....in real time.....whilst playing mine sweeper in the background

lol yea- its definetly network related thou- as no one else in the server with less specs are having probs. My network is fine thou !

i miss doom3....when i get my new gfx whore-mobile, i'm reinstalling it for a gibfest

thats what i planned to do to - lol. But i ran into the oddest problem- usually i can solve things like this.

try uninstalling, reinstalling, putting on the newest patch, disconnect and reconnect your internet, checking the network settings in game and then play

yea im going to reinstall and repatch. i checked my net tons of times and everythign seems fine with it.

reinstalled and repatched it and joined an empty server and got under 5 fps constantly. But if i run my own server i get like 80+ fps constant.

start > run > cmd > ping -t www.google.com

Let it run for a few minutes, press ctrl + C, and tell us if you have any dropped (lost) packets.

My connection is fine- its only having bad problems on doom3. CS and any other game i get very low ping and smooth gameplay.

Doom 3 has shitty net code. Problem solved.

I kno d3 has bad netcode but literally seriously im getting 1fps constant and wont let me move out of spawn.

ah but you didn't realise that i infact was joking aswell but it wasn't funny cos it was about 4am in the morning and i didn't use a smiley cos smileys are gay like farm yard animals. go figure

and listening to 3 mp3 players and pulling out sticks of ram and throwing them on the ground! call customer support, they are helpful!
