doom 3 problem..Vpu fail

ok..i can play doom 3 for abotu 2 minutes then i get the error in that screen. Then the CPU will reset and i can play for another 2 minutes. can anyone help me??
Should my AGP Aperature be 64 mb or 128 mb...my GPU is a Radeon 9600 pro, 128 meg

Try turning fast writes off and maybe turning down the AGP speed.
Do you have GART (AGP chipset) drivers installed?

128MB seems like a reasonable size for the apature size, but I don't think it's relevant to this problem.

Also make sure you have the latest drivers.

if you've o/ced the card, turn it back to normal settings as you may have pushed it too far.

ok, i'll try that stuff. But the card is on default settings. This happens in all games. I just DLed 3d mark and it did it in that too. I installed the 4.9 betas, then when it crashed I installed the 4.7s. Still crashed. I'll play around with settings in my bios. Is it possible that my card is defective?

If I didnt have GART drviers installed wouldn my AGP card not be working?

(if it is this will be my 3rd replacement)
