doom3 done quick(???)

Why would they print the CD with the Rating Pending ESRB logo on it? That's a little weird.
 
Cool packaging but yeah, fake. Just think though, not much longer till we really do get that game in our hands :)
 
"Preview Content?" Sounds like a promotional CD of sorts

well thats cd2 with "preview content" ... the other disc is rated M

It looks awsome. For some reason printing Commemorative Edition and then using the classic Doom logo makes me actually want Doom3. It (Doom2) was the first computer game I ever played , at my babysitters house and it was on those huge soft floppy disks. Memories.


PS- It would be pretty easy just to photoshop the superscript 3 in there. And use the fairly generic box art. However it does look pretty realistic, and it looks good.

Um.. that HAS to be some sort of Doom Collector's edition set.. look at the box.
It says "Includes preview... Doom," granted you can't see the ³.. it seems all too odd

I see no reason why the author would have covered the superscript 3s on the box other than to have this faked
 
Not to mention, there's no way in hell (no pun intended) that Doom3 is fitting on a single, or even two discs. And if it's a dvd version (which ID has made no mention of), why wouldn't they put it into a DVD case?
 
most preview disks are DVD look at uru preview... oh yeah i got a halflife 2 preview disk in my cs:cz box and i never expected that loL!LO!LO its got all the videos in high quallity bink

High quality used a little too loosely.. they've been shrunk to fit on a CD
 
I bet it's probably fake, but I don't know.

Someone mentioned something about editing the Doom name and putting the superscript "3" on it. Well, that part isn't fake. Look at the Doom3 official website and you'll see that is the official logo.

When did they change the "3" to a superscript? I always thought the "3" was regular font size.
 
Ok I asked around with a few people and they told me it's simply a press package that is sent around to game magazines and the like.

its a fake, well actualy its real, just not doom 3

if u look at the box under ther cd it says includes preview .... with the doom 3 logo underneth. also the logo onm the box is the old logo. it is odviosly a re-release of the origional with the doom 3 preview disk included. that explanes why there is a ratings pending logo on the preview disk and an m rating on the other.

Maybe id is planning on releasing a Doom (+ Doom II?) collectors edition with a preview of Doom 3 and this is it. It kinda makes sence since, unless I'm mistaken, Doom and Doom II can't be run on Windows XP (I think I read that somewhere, though I'm not certain).

If that is the case, it seems logical, so I think it may be real. It looks authentic enough.

EDIT: Eh... burnzie beat me to it... And other guy.

EDIT AGAIN: 200 posts... that's weird, I don't remember ever having 180+ posts. Now I'm confused and have no Smilie to show it!
 
Lol, did any of you bother to check any Doom³ news sites? Yes, it is indeed a collectors edition of the old DooMs with a Doom³ preview cd, as a few of you have figured out by analyzing the pic. There are a couple of new screens floating around too. Low quality scans, meh.

I assumed that SOMEONE had to of checked. Guess I was wrong :LOL:.
 
the game's Collector's Edition comes with a DooM³ CD which carries a slightly modified version of the E3 2003 trailer, featuring different graphics and sound effects.

Actually, it's not a fake. I saw it at Wal-Mart earlier today. It's a Collector's Edition of Doom, Doom II, and Final Doom. It also includes a preview disc of Doom III. That's why the older DOOM emblem is on the cover below the inner CD Case. The case isn't anything big, and I actually saw it in the section where they put the old games no one buys anymore, it's like 9.98. I would've bought it, but I don't have money to spend on content I can download. :)
