Hey all...

I followed this tutorialhttp://www.interlopers.net/content.php?article.87 and my window doesn't want to stick with the door. Do I have to tie the window entity to the door via parent? When I click a button to open the door, for one it smokes (!!!!) and then when it's done, and the window eventually falls out of the frame, the door opens but leaves 2 of the window border boards hanging in mid-air. Fixes? Do I need these frames?

Here's hoping someone else has struggled w/ this same tut.

That tutorial seems overly complicated and as far as I can tell there would be no real benefit to making the glass a physics object. However if you really want to follow it then I believe your problem is that you haven't tied your frame brushes to the rotating door entity. Just select your frame AND your door and push ctrl+t, then click on yes. Dunno what to tell you about the smoke, that is rather odd.

Anyways, what I would do is simply make the rotating door like in the tutorial, leaving a gap for the glass, and give it a name. Then just put the glass in as a func_breakable and enter the door's name in the parent field. I haven't tried the tutorial but as far as I can tell the effect is the same.

That's exactly what I was thinking (that's a good thing, it means I'm learning). I'll try it the way you suggested and it should work just fine also. When they talked about a frame and all that jazz, I got crossed up too, figured a func_breakable with a parent tied to the door would do just fine, buuuuuuuuuut wanted to seek some advice first. :)
