Dota 2 "Foreseer's Contract" Update Announced: Days 1 + 2

The latest major update for Dota 2 has arrived in the form of the "Foreseer's Contract". The patch focuses on the introduction of a new hero, Oracle, who is capable of removing buffs, providing powerful magic resistance, and, most importantly, delaying damage and healing taken for a short duration with his ultimate, "False Promise". Oracle was previously revealed within the update's comic, released this past Friday.

The update is also set to introduce Phantom Assassin's arcana item set, as voted for several months ago using The International 2014 Compendium. Like all other arcana sets, this expensive and rare item will provide a number of special bonuses, including additional animations, sound and voice effects, kill tracking, a chat emoticon, and much more.

A bunch of other features are also set to be introduced, including a new "Arsenal of the Defender's Vision" treasure chest, a "Charm of the Defender's Vision" item used to predict game victories, new mega-creep models, "Heroic Effigies" which can be used to decorate a player's base, and the release of Compendium Gems and Emoticons used to show off the final level of a purchased Compendium.

Broodmother and Phoenix have been added into Captain's Mode, allowing both to enter professional play, while a number of new and updated sound effects have been added for different runes, as well as for several items and abilities, such as Helm of the Dominator, Linken's Sphere, Windranger's Windrun, Roshan's Slam, and Spirit Breaker's Empowering Haste.
