It sure has been quiet recently, and a thick layer of dust has been gathering on the Dota 2 blog. Thankfully, Valve is ready to sweep away that dust with "The Spring Cleaning Update", a new 900MB patch set to introduce an absolutely ridiculous number of bug fixes and new features. These include changes to the interface, improvements to the inventory system, and additional support for Steam Workshop contributors looking to make cosmetic items.

While hundreds of bug fixes are nice, the community is far more excited about the v6.81 balance patch also included with the update. As usual, this section of the update features a significant number of changes to the majority of the game's heroes, as well as a number of the main gamemodes. These include an increase to Roshan's base armour, reduced damage taken by melee illusions, and increased hero selection pools for Random Draft and Captain's Draft. Significant nerfs to heroes such as Ember Spirit and Terrorblade are likely to shake up both the competitive scene and public matchmaking.
Two new keyless chests are also set to be added in the update, which you can check out over on the official announcement page alongside all the other details. The patch is currently live on the main Dota 2 client, so be sure to download it the next time you plan to play.
While no new heroes or gamemodes have been introduced with The Spring Cleaning Update, an announcement blog post has confirmed that the Regional Qualifiers for The International 4 tournament will begin in around two weeks, so stay tuned for more information about participating teams and match times. Now, have fun reading the thousands of lines worth of changelogs, we know we did! Enjoy the patch, everybody!
