This week's Dota 2 update once again focuses on improving the game's visual style while further expanding the game's ever-growing library of cosmetic items. Following on from trends in previous weeks, hero cosmetic item sets have been introduced for Keeper of the Light, Riki and Spirit Breaker. The Quelling Blade, Stout Shield and Tango all received in-game ground models while the Dust of Appearance model that was introduced last week has received some minor visual upgrades. The Dagon item also received some visual improvements in the shape of some updated particle effects which now scale in size and intensity relevant to the upgrade level of the item.

A number of item and hero balancing tweaks were also included with the update including positive improvements to the Tranquil Boots, which now offer more health over a longer period of time, and negative changes to Drow Ranger's "Marksmanship" ultimate, Keeper of the Light's "Illuminate" ability and Nyx Assassin's "Spiked Carapace" ability. Unreleased couriers also appeared in force this week, with the upcoming introduction of the "Nimble Ben", "Princess Penelope the Porcine", and the insanely cute "Servant of Selemene" couriers. The Snowl is set to appear in this update, while the other two have yet to be added to the drop system, but we look forward to seeing them in-game soon. In related news, the popular Lockjaw courier received a much needed texture overhaul, helping to bring the model up to date with the rest of Dota 2's recent visual improvements. The new "Treasure of the Cursed Wood", and the "Treasure of Rarities" chests were also introduced into the game files but are currently unreleased.

Speaking of unreleased content, the second incomplete quest for the growing Tutorial system also saw an update this week in the shape of some in-game strings and a basic mini-map image, both of which revealed that the second quest would focus on the player taking the role of Sniper to assassinate Tidehunter - spoiler alert! Upcoming heroes Bristlebog, Skywrath Mage and Elder Titan also received a variety of particle effect and texture updates, further hinting at their joint release sometime in the near future. And yes, I'm going to say that every week until they're included just to try and trick myself into believing it.
