i have a powercoler ati radeon 9800 pro, and sometimes its overheating a bit. once i tried to overclock it a bit and then my pc crashed...

what i want:
clock it (down?) to it's standart settings
i need:
a program to do that
the default memory and chips values

please help me !!

thanks

Get Powerstrip, it's an easy utility and you can underclock with it. Or ATi Tool, that one tests your card to see what it's maximum clock speeds can be without getting artifacts or overheating. But you 9800 pro's default speeds should be 380 core, 680 memory (It may say 340 for the memory because it's multiplied by 2).

ok then my card is just ****ed...i have these speeds(lil bit lower) and i still get pink pixels and such... :(

What is the temperature of your GPU? Did you test it with only one game? Doom3? lol If you have random pixels in about every game you play then I guess you'll have to underclock more or/and get a better cooling system (more fans). Make sure you have a good airflow in your case.

as i said...my case is open and i got an arctic-cooling vga-silencer.
well my fps are not good as well (i dont feel any lag or so but the number sucks), 35-80 fps in css.

where can i see the gpu temp?

WTF? Are you sure the VGA silencer is working? Is it on right? Caus there is no way that it should be like this with a VGA silencer even underclocked. I would return it, the card's bad. It's a Powercolor, these are the kinds of things I was talking about when I say don't buy Powercolors. Return it for a Sapphire or MSI if you can. It should be under warranty as even underclocked it's doing this.

the ebay seller is bankrupt and immersed -.-
the weird thing is, in doom 3 i did not have those things...in bf vietnam it was even worse (it crashed and so on)

i think ill have to save for a new card

I wouldnt jump to the conclusion that your card is fubared just because you see pink pixels. I got pink pixels with my 9800XT, but that was because of AA or AF. I wouldnt worry about it :afro:
