Downloaded maps differ from server's copy?

Every single time I join a server that needs to download a new map to my client I get an error once the map downloads telling me that my version of the map differs from the server's copy. I'm perplexed as to how I can download a map from the server and have that map vary. This happens on every map I download from a server.

I found these threads on the matter but they both deal with included content which runs fine for me.
