What are your thoughts on assisted suicide and the right to die?

To quote steven hawking: "I believe people should have the right to kill themselves if they wish, however I beleive it would be a terrible mistake."

He is living proof that it can never definatly be said that someone will die. Also on the news, there was this man who had 0% chnace of living, spent all his moeny, and then pulled through. lol.

Wow. Talk about brainwashing- I remember hearing about this as a 10-year-old, and (because everyone told me I was supposed to) I was horrified. Now, when I look at it almost eight years later, he really seems to have a valid point.

The proviso should be that the person is of sound mind and logic, and I also believe there should be at least 3 separate consultants involved in the gaining of the consent, but otherwise I'm all for voluntary euthanasia.
