Elisk sat, his crimson eye closed shut against the pulsing blue of the Healing Pool in front of him, and the orange-yellow of the crystals mounted randomly on the walls. Aside from the constant stream of the waterfall pouring the blue matter beside him, and the omnicient wind that wailed through the small cave, all was silent. A thought struck him. From not himself, but from some one farther away. He opened his eye slowly, to find a yellow three-legged Sprinter infront of him. Blinking its single eye, the Sprinter barked repeatedly.
Elisk ushered several grunts and spurrs of audible sound.
You felt that too?
The Sprinter jumped in excitement repeatedly, clicking its front legs together.
Elisk stood, and grunted a few more times.
Let's go then.
Elisk stood, and trudged through the blue matter. Waves licking hs heels and talons with every step. The Sprinter ran ahead of him, kicking up its hind leg. Stopping at the mouth of the cave and turning back to Elisk, the Sprinter barked. Elisk neared the mouth of the cave, as several Pronged Darters ran by, grunting slightly. Elisk paused, as two Vortigaunts came by the cave. Both turned to him.
The first, Elisk recognised as Gretnig, grunted and clicked.
Have you heard? The Nihilanth has picked up on something, we're on the move again.
Elisk clicked back to him.
He's found a new home for us? Already?
This time the other Vortigaunt, whom Elisk could not recognise, grunted.
There's a strong pulse coming from another dimension. We're finally headed there.
The Sprinter barked anxiously beside Elisk.
Elisk Clicked a few phrases.
That's the third time in these past few months, I bet it's those damn humans again.
Gretnig replied.
So I'm told, it is, we're supposed to face some interference as well. Everyone on this rock is suppoed to be mobilized immediately.
Elisk grunted back.
Alright, let's go then.
The Sprinter barked again and darted ahead, following two other Sprinters that had already started making their way into the open. Elisk stepped out of the cave with the other two Vortigaunts. A few meters away, another couple of Vortigaunts stepped into the light from the dark mouth of a shorter cave.
A sudden high-pitched hum filled the silence, and a dropship flew up from the edge of the rock, and stopped above several Sprinters who anxiously pounced continuously underneath it. The top of the dropship was hardly visible, revealing only a small amount of the blue shell, its underside was a more yellow-brown. A sudden beam emitted from it's belly, and the Sprinters disappeared sequently. The dropship then lifted a few more feet higher, and zoomed off, its tail flicking slightly.
Elisk suddenly realized the long line of Vortigaunts and Pronged-Darters infront of him. He turned to Gretnig and grunted.
Is everyone this anxious to leave this borderworld?
The unrecognizeable Vortigaunt replied.
Anxious? No, this is enlistment Elisk, we're going to war.

I got the idea for this awhile ago, just never got around to it =/.
I didn't want to use the term 'Bullsquid' or 'Houndeye' as those names are based off Earth animals. It would make more sense if in Xen, they were named more accordingly, as 'Xenians' would not be able to call a houndeye a houndeye, as they have no idea what a hound is =P.
