A quick drawing of a dragon head. I don't often draw dragons so sorry if it looks wierd ;).

Oh, and I've been playing around with my tablet for almost a week now, and I'm wondering where I can learn to paint with it using Photoshop 7. Any pointers appreciated.

Very nice - you should try drawing the entire dragon. :D

Dunno about Photoshop though...

I like your design , tried it out in 3d , has a lot of possibilities.

Oh wow, that looks good. I'm flattered ;)

It was supposed to be an aquatic sort of dragon, hence the fin on his head and neck.

So you can basically enhance any image that you want using photshop etc?

I'm not sure I understand your question. You use photoshop like you would a brush and paint. What do you mean by enhance? If by "enhance" you mean draw or paint, yes you can. But it takes as much skill to draw and paint on photoshop than on actual paper.

I think you're under the impression photoshop is a magic wand, where you put in a shitty picture and it comes out beautiful. Photoshop is a medium, just like pencil, charcoal, paint, and pen are mediums. In your sentence, you can substitute "photoshop" by any of the above mediums. You could say "So you can enhance any image that you want using charcoal?" If you see my point, you'd understand why this doesn't make sense. You don't enhance a picture using charcoal, you draw it.

I think you should download a trial version of photoshop and try to "enhance" a drawing.

Great artists are at their best when over 40 years old, that's 40 YEARS of experience and practise. Everyone posting computer enhanced images here would be no older than 30 and everyone whose anyone seems to know how to use these programs at a high level. I can't believe you would even say that using a computer is as hard as doing the real thing, TheSomeone.

Eatbugs, do you mean 'Enhance' as in things like sharpening the lines, darkening/lightening, effects, that kind of thing? And if your question was responding to that 3d image, that wasn't done in photoshop. Sorry if I sound needlessly patronising. :x

Eatbugs, these programs aren't magic, and they don't give people the ability to draw amazingly. If you can't draw on paper, you won't be able to draw in photoshop. It's just another medium. Like TheSomeone said, why don't you download the trial and try it yourself?

And TheSomeone, your dragon looks great btw :) would look amazing with some more detail

And I can't believe you would say it doesn't. I don't think we're on the same page at all.

As a proof of my confidence of what I said, I'll give you a year, a entire year to draw a portrait of the same quality as, say, TDE's art. If in a year you've achieved that, I'll buy you a copy of photoshop CS (US$649.00)

Yeah I'm pretty sure he does mean has ;)

I said this before to Eatbugs, why do you seem to think computer art means you press a button and the computer draws you a master piece?

EDIT: 1,000th post! :D Only took almost 2 years :p

Looks like a baby dragon compared to the sketch ;D

Oh s**t, that's the most expensive typo in the history of the forum :P. Fixed it.

A nice offer TheSomeone but we really don't think alike it terms of art. I'll be happy continuing my drawing and painting without computers (no offence intended) and I'll try to keep my mouth shut when it comes to computer art.

Yes, I think we best drop this discussion.

I'll finish my saying that computer designed art is in more demand than painted art in this day and age.

It still does look like a baby/kid dragon, not an adult, i think it should have a much longer nose and markings from fights etc.

EDIT: Or just a longer nose would make it look like an adult dragon. If you've seen birds, baby birds has small and short noses compared to their parents.
