I bought an Antec 900 two weeks ago and I've been googling advice for cable management when I came across this:

So I decided that I would give it a shot. I bought a 20k rpm dremel with all the accessories the hardware store had and I started practicing on the motherboard tray of my previous case. The dremel drills fine through the tray but it can't cut through it. I've been using reinforced wheel cutters but it's just scraping at the surface. I was expecting it to cut, not to grind the surface. On the test tray, the line that I tried to cut was slightly deeper than the surface. But it's ridiculously time consuming.

Is the dremel really this weak at cutting metal/steel? I wonder how much time those guys spent on cutting the holes.

I'm no expert but I just go really slow and watch how it's cutting. If you go to fast the blade could shatter or you chew through the blade really quick. None of the steel cases I've cut are that thick though. Usually aluminum or thin steel.

I guess I need more patience, I'll post pics of how it goes. If it goes at all lol :D

Mebeh try drilling a hole first, then using the edge of the hole to start your cut.

I recall that's how they'd do it at this kayak shop i'd hang around.

I love my 900 too much to risk anything, it's beautiful the way it is!

Yeah I tried with two holes distanced by half an inch. It wasn't cutting fast enough so I gave up for the day. I think I'll postpone this project till my finals are over then I'll have all the time in the world to cut the case.
