Drivers for radeon 9800 pro

hey,
i have a readeon 9800 pro, when i installed cs:s ages ago , it asked to update my drivers as the appered to be outdated but i didnt

while polaying source it freeses like many ppl had reported with the looping sound
so basically does any1 know which drivers i should update to free it from this gfx error??

First off, did it begin after the last major update?
If yes, the in that case, you should go to "Options" >> "Video" >> "Advanced" and turn the HDR OFF.
Second, the ATI's latest driver is the 5.9. You can download it from the ATI website:
www.ati.com
Go to "Customer Care" >> "Find Driver".
Search for the 5.9 Catalyst.

so is it just the 5.9 catalist i need?
or is there other types of drivers that should be installed

Well, you generally want the latest drivers, but every driver update causes problems for some people which is why I'm never in a rush to update my drivers. The 5.9s are the current ones, though I'm using the 5.8s still. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

abit off topic hear, but which gfx card is bettre the radeon 9800 pro or the radeon x700??

The X700 is better, but not at much.
The X800GTO should cost the same, and will have a 6800NU preformence. (much, much better)

Just google Radeon Drivers. Thats what I did. It should have something about ATI Customer Care. Go there. There should be an opening page that says a bunch of different Cards click on Radeon for XP or Home Edition. Then Install the 9.08 driver
