Does anyone know of a site that keeps up to date drivers for such things as sondcards. Realtek in particular, their site is very confusing and I think I'm having the sound problem thingy.

Isn't that an Onboard Sound Card if so go your Motherboard site for the latest Drivers.

i think you mean realtek ac97 onboard sound if you do try this
