Drives opening

Ok so I got this converter and it opens the ****ing drives up by itself for me to insert a blank disc but I don't want it to ****in do that because I have a fan blowing in, I want to have enough time to do it myself so I got to thinking, is there something in the control panel or something that I can configure the drives to only open up by me clicking on the button?
EDIT: btw I don't have spyware problems or anything, this always happens with programs demanding blank discs and at this point I'm just pissed at it.
