who the hell is handling security in the US? Barney Fife? You'd think with the country being at war, domestic spying, rendition etc a drug dealer wouldnt have sensitive classified information ..I mean this is los Alamos, home of the manhatten project and currently a site for nuclear research not some freakin hotel room in washington

Yahoo said:
Authorities in northern New Mexico have stumbled onto what appears to be classified information from Los Alamos National Laboratory while arresting a man suspected of domestic violence and dealing methamphetamine from his mobile home.

Sgt. Chuck Ney of the Los Alamos Police Department said the information was discovered during a search last Friday of the man's records for evidence of his drug business.

Police alerted the FBI to the secret documents, which agents traced back to a woman linked to the drug dealer, officials said. The woman is a contract employee at Los Alamos National Laboratory, according to an FBI official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the case.

The official would not describe the documents except to say that they appeared to contain classified material and were stored on a computer file

Over here, they kept finding MoD military laptops dumped in ditches.

another US bash thread..ey

lemonchicken/spicy tuna if you have nothing to contribute then dont post at all ..you should be concerned about this considering you live in the US

Just need to stop hiring freaking losers like that into places like that, do a damn background check! If that's no use, just hire extremely qualified people, not the common go getter.

cuz some dope dealer most like bought papers off some corrupt Government person?...I think not.

This is awful. How did a contract employee get access to these files? Someone has screwed up somewhere along the line. The war on drugs is going bad enough as it is, to see dealers having inside information makes things worse.

Secret = Classified government information which could seriously damage the country's economy, society or military if it fell into the wrong hands.

-It's not a war on drugs, it's a war on personal freedom is what it is, okay?. Keep that in mind at all times, thank you.-

Contract workers...you really do have to keep an eye on them. Especially if they are socializing with serious drug dealers.

Classified documents != matter of national security

no....This does not affect me in anyway. But you people need something to bitch about.

You dont know that. It may or may not. We wont know, because the govt wont tell us. And if it does affect us, we will never know it.

It may not directly effect anyone, but it gives you an insight into whatever tf is going on, but it's also important to note that elements of the CIA / government have connections with ring leaders and deal in contraband themselves, for a blatant historical example you have the Iran contra affair.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Contra_Affair

A more consistent source of funding for the Contras came from Latin American cocaine trafficking, much of which resulted in large quantities of the drug entering the United States for consumption. Released on April 13, 1989, the Kerry Committee report concluded that members of the U.S. State Department "who provided support for the Contras were involved in drug trafficking...and elements of the Contras themselves knowingly received financial and material assistance from drug traffickers."

and people such as Mike Ruppert who were hired to work for the CIA that have announced publically they are aware of the illegal activities/groups within these organisations.

ya but this was a two bit drug dealer dealing drugs from his trailer (trailer trash) ..that's like the lowest common denominator on the social foodchain ..if he can manage to obtain access to one of the world's foremost research facilities on nuclear weapons what does it say about the state of national security during wartime? ..especially since the tactic of the enemy is to strike from within

Classified documents != matter of national security

Yes, they are. At least all classifications above and including confidential are.

And how about when the MI6 employee 'accidently' left his laptop bag on a seat at a underground tube station :p

He'd probably been out on the razz the night before.
