I am currently using WinXP but I need Win98. I allready made a dual boot system with those two windows but it was on the same HD and I reformated since then. I am currently using WinXP and I want to install Win98 on an old HD.

I was wondering how I'm gonna choose which Windows's gonna open. Will I be able to run either one of them by choosing the appropriate HD to boot on by going in the bios?

Anything special I should know?

I suggest installing the windows onf different hard drives. You will want to install 98 first, because XP will detect your other OS and have it so you can dual boot.

I just reinstalled windows XP a couple of week ago and I don't really want to do it again... Is there a way to do it by installing win98 after XP? I'm definately gonna install them on 2 different hard drive.

If there are really no way around this I will connect one HD on the IDE and deconnect the other but I don't really like that idea...

I don't use a dual boot system anymore, but when I did I had to install ME before XP or I could only use ME. I know ME sucks but I think that 98 would do the same thing. You can always try to install 98 and if it doesn't let you use dual boot reinstall XP.

Sounds easy... though I'm not familiar with that option, is it in the bios?

Not entirely sure if this is what you are asking, but I had a problem before I and ened up with xp installed on two different partitions of the same hard drive. On boot up it then gave me an option of which OS I wanted to boot up with (one was messed up, so I used the other to get onto comp to back up stuff before I formatted the hard drive).

Partition Magic by proquest will solve your problem. I have XP installed on one hd and 98 on the other. With BootMagic, comes with Partition Magic, after the bios loads boot magic pops up and asks you which OS you want to boot to. I have it set to go to xp if i dont tell it to do other wise. Simple as that.

I had Xp on my first hdd and 98 on my secondary, all you have to do is change the order of boot devices in the BIOS to change OS's.
