I'm looking at maybe installing Windows 98 to a partition and dual booting with it (I have a few games/applications that absolutely refuse to work with XP, and I want to use them), if I do install 98 to another partition, will it work fine? I vaguely remember hearing that a 98 and XP dual boot doesn't work too well..

Also, if I do do this, would it be better to install 98 to a partition, or a seperate HD (I have a 4GB HD laying around that I could use)?

Thanks. I'd be willing to use a 98 emulator of some sort, if it exists..

Im a little fuzzy on this one, havent worked with 98 in quite a while..

But if i remember correctly, if you set your HD up as a Dynamic Disk it *should* be able to dual boot from the 98 and XP. Or maybe im getting it confused with NT.. Anway, its worth a shot.

I think I'll just go with using a secondary HD, less hassle that way

Nice avatar, by the way :)

by all means yes, go with the second hard drive. That way if one crashses you still have the other.....

nice avitar...... :cheese:

Another question, as I was reading up on Dual Booting, all the guides I read said it's basically required you install the older operating systems (98, in this case) before the newer (XP)

However, Partition Magic will let me install 98 regardless, and I'll have to use their OS selection tool, but, has anyone used PM for this? I was going to test on my other system, but, the harddrive died for no real reason, and I'm going to try and low level format it tomorrow (hopefully some sectors got messed up and the low level format will fix it)
