Dual Wielding Weaponry?...

I recently received my new PCGamer magazine and on the front cover it showed Gordon Freeman. He was wielding 2 weapons: an MP5 and a Desert Eagle.

Now, I know that was probably done as artwork to put on the cover, but will you be able to wield 2 weapons simultaneously? That would be awesome!

But, I also think that the MP5 is not made to hold in one hand while shooting and the Desert Eagle is maybe a bit too powerful for that as well. There is only one problem, the weapons would have a lot more kickback.

So, will you be able to wield two weapons at this time in the game? I'm just curious...

There has been no word from Valve on this. Don't bet on it.

As far as we know, no, you won't be able to wield dual weapons.

Almost certainly not. Doesn't really fit in with the game, given that many of the weapons take two hands to use. But of course, it's not an engine limitation: even HL1 mods had some duel weilding features.

We'll have to wait for a new The Specialists or Action HalfLife2

They should have added Dual Wielding Crowbars in HL1!!! I would go up to a zombie with em, smack smack smack. Ya take that! *Kisses Crowbars* thank god for you 2 crowbars, i dont know what i would do without you.

*Looks at Minerel kissing his two red crowbars turned yellow from zombie glop*

you sir, are one sick person....

No, it would be as cool as kneecap cancer. You want dual-wielding go play TS. If they put dual guns in the game, I will refuse to buy it because that has to be one of the most retarded things they could add, I really don't care if it looks COOL because cool isn't necessarily fun.

"For God sakes Jim, I'm a scientist not an action hero!"

Kneecap cancer?? lol. Is that actually possible? Sounds sore

If they put dual weilding(doubt they will) in u would still buy it.

The only time dual weapons is ever realistically used in combat is when a soldier is holding a pistol and a knife (like in MGS3). Akimbo pistols are pretty much never used in combat. I know Half-Life isn't a realistic game but that would just be cheesy.

However, it's great for mods like The Specialists - probably the best Half-Life mod available.

Your right, I would buy it and recieve a huge hemeriod every time I saw 2 of the same weapon on the screen.

I hope they don't do it, it's sort of lame outside of a Matrix-y environment. Not to mention pointless, there are a buch of Halo fans who see dual-wielding as an ingenious gameplay feature. It isn't, it's just an unessecary 'cool' factor that isn't really that cool at all.

Well not really, most mods i have seen you dual weild but it is just a gun model, it would be the same as just 1 gun firing faster, i think it would be cool to dual weild 2 diffrent weapons, like a crowbar and a pistol.

That PC Gamer cover is ugly as hell, doesn't look like anything a Valve concept artist drew, more like his retarded son who picked up some crayons.

And it ain't a Desert Eagle, looks more like a glock. I sure hope Gordon won't be able to dual wield weapons, he's an MIT scientist, not f*cking Rambo.

dual wielding crowbars = spiffy

EVER!!!1!!

/me thinks about the possibilities.
/me goes sadistically smiling into the darkness.

Yeah, it would e pretty dumb, and would add more controls to remember, like how do you do a secondary fire for only one weapon? Bad idea.
Save it for Halo 2.

Lukes Wall I LOVE your avatar!

In real life when people try to fire sub machine guns in each hand they hit nothing.

Its hard enough to aim with both hands never mind this rambo crap.

how about welding two guns together :D for teh uber daka daka!

I think it'd be a neat idea to do weapons akimbo. Everyone's got atleast two buttons on their mouse right? The left button could fire the left-handed weapons and the right button could fire the right-handed weapon. The penalty for wielding weapons in each hand would be horrible long/medium range accuracy, but for close-in situations it'd be a killer feature.

I wouldn't want dual weilding in HL2.

Maybe with that silver revolver or something...MAYBE. But not any other gun.

have you ever dual wielded any weapons before?
I have and it kills your accuracy.
its a great addition to action games... but would straight up be outta place in HL/Hl2
