Dungeon Siege II beta!

Take lots of screenshots and give lots of feeback and compare it to the original DS. I am a big fan of the series.

edit: Great game, like the last one, but everything is improved, gameplay and graphics. Story seems interesting too, cant say I liked the first games story at all.
 
Installing. I'll come back with some screens and info.

EDIT: One thing I hope they changed is the lvling and ability system. I was a ranged combat guy in DS1 and lvling up did NOTHING, no extra hp, no extra dmg, no ANYTHING.....it was just plain retarded.
 
is there anyway to get this from somewhere other than fileplanet
 
After trying to run this for an hour or so...I can answer one question...it's MP only.

I can't even rate this game because I have yet to play it...

I installed, ran the program - it doesn't even start. Something about a missing file.

I uninstall, reinstall - restart - run the game, it works.

I go to join a game online - The host is in the game playing. I click ready...nothing happens. After fiddling with joining games and asking around...I still can't figure out how to f*cking join a game when it's already in progress. I decide to make my own.

I go to create the game, the screen goes black with the pointer on the screen...nothing happens. My computer doesn't think at all and it just sits there.

I've tried a ton of different things...and I can't figure out what the hell the problem is.

Yeah. Companies don't realize that the best gamers are those that have no money and no time to work. Therefore, letting subcribers beta test their products is pointless. Us non-subscribers will end up with a buggy piece of crap because of it.

in other words gamers in high school? you tell em! unfortunately, many of these ego-driven kids only get a beta to have fun with it, when the point of a beta is to find bugs and submit them. i don't think they are looking for 'bestest gamer evar!', or people that are downloading it so they can brag about being the best in it.

Yeah this is MP only, the game seems to be just as good as the first IMO.

Its MP only, or you can just..you know, host a lan game by yourself and play with npcs, like I do.

Also whats this about the leveling up system Amish? They have changed it, you have TONS of skills and stuff to get now.. If thats not changed then I dont know what is.

I was saying I hope they have changed it because there was nothing to strive for in DS1. I still haven't gotten DS2 to even work. I keep getting black screens when I try to start up a game.
 
Actually, most non-MMORPG's that are released as betas on Fileplanet aren't proper betas anyway. They give you 2 maps to play on if you're lucky. How can you beta test a game with 1 or 2 maps to play - you can't.

They're more like a demo, and a cheap tactic for Fileplanet to make more money.

If you dont know this your an idiot, as it says on freaking site its just a small part of the game. Take your fileplanet bashing elsewhere.

No shit most the people that bash like that are the ones that most likely wish the were a suscriber but cant afford it so they do the only thing they can BB (Bitch and Bash).

i played for 90 mins just now and i have to say it's pretty impressive, although a lot of the simplistic features of the original are gone. there's so many more options now, the graphics look better (although still a little off) and you can choose dialogue paths now, a la monkey island.
 
yeah, it's been open since thursday morning (wednesday night in the U.S. i guess).

and it's on the front page.
 
Sweet! I just donwloaded it overnight (5 hours on a 1.6mb connection! :eek: )
Before I play it, theres one thing I want to know-- are there any story spoilers? I'd hate to ruin DS2's "imporved storyline" before I even buy the game.
