I'm a tard moff when it comes to burning dvd's. What programs are suggested to burn movies to dvd's and play them on a dvd player that is able to play certain formats.

What do you guys use?

First have a good quality player, nec and benq make really good ones that are also inexpensive.

Second use quality media, I cannot stress enough, probably the most important advies I can give

Third, burn at a slow speed, I always burn my Taiyo Yuden 8x at a speed of 4. And I always get a quality between 95 and 98%
You can test the quality of the burn with nero cd-dvd speed, it's a free program you can download.

As far as burning Nero is the best, but it's also the biggest pile of bloatware shit out there. Thats why I use CDBurner xp pro 3, dvd decyper and alcohol 120%.

Also if you want the best compatibility buy a dvd r+ and set the bitsetting to dvd-rom.

Finally if you have any questions ask them at http://forums.afterdawn.com/ , these guys know everything, from burning games to movies, and the programs to use for that.
