Does the DVD Special Edition come with the making of?

And if so, for those who've seen it, is it interesting / in-depth?

I want to get a hold of it if so.

I thought Raising the Bar was the closest they would get to documenting the Half-Life series.

none "the making" DVD that i know of.
the book is the closest to date...unless Valve have released something without much hoopla.

Valve never said they were going to release a making of DVD. They said they'd release Raising the Bar which is effectively a making of book.

"Making Of" movies are always so brief and never really cover the stuff I WANT to see.

Maybe I should get the book.

Can anyone recommend the book? Is it informative? Can modders learn something from it?

I don't own the book but I have seen it and flipped though it and it's amazing. Lots of juicy info and tons of pictures and concept art. Go get it

if u are deeply interested in concept art and how Valve decided on all the content in HL/HL2, then this book is a must.

modding wise, im not too sure u will learn much...it doesn't have pointers etc.. so if ur looking for that, don't bother getting the book.

"Raising the Bar"

You can find it for sale at amazon.com, and bookstores I think.

Raising the bar goes WAY indepth into the game's development.

It's quite cool really.
