dx9 to dx8

my short cut is "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" applaunch 220 -dxlevel 90

i want it to start in dx8, as i have a 5200 card thats not very fast

that doesn't seem to work. maybe it's time for a new card,
any more help?...any one?
