Wouldn't it be useful if when you restart CSS (when map changes) that it picks the settings for you?

Like on office i have near max settings with max res and loving it, but on dust i have to tone things down a bit.

Wouldn't it be cool if it loaded them for you in a sepperate "de_dust_settings.txt" file ?

Think i should ask valve for such a feature?

Couldn't you technically do that now? Copy all your settings from one file into another and give it a new name. Then adjust those settings for that particular map. Once in-game, pull down the console and type "exec configname.cfg" where configname is the name of the text file you saved. That should do the trick.

yeah but when it "initiates renderer" its loading up my old settings (from last map) i then change to new ones and that takes time (and prob get killed).

AA always takes ages but other settings are fine.

Yeah I know what you mean, but even a feature from Valve would have to initiate the renderer once you change settings. I guess maybe it could be done between maps, so you don't notice it, but I doubt a feature like this will be on their priority list. Good thought though.
