Dystopia Version 1 Released

Well we were prepared for it, and now it's here. As there are so very many mirrors for it, just take your pick of which one from their website. Definitely check this out, one of the prettiest mods out there, and version 1 holds much promise.[br]

This is the best HL2 mod out. It's very complete, looks great and a hell of a lot of fun to play.

yep, by far the best mod out for source. One of the best HL mods, even. I'd put it up there with Natural Selection.

its confusing tho if you just jump right in and play, seems like a lot of peeps do this and dont take time to learn the game and then say its bad.

Better than the previous version i played, whatever the hell version that was.

Doesn't seem to be any bullet penetration through walls, boo. Espcially boo when you see an enemies big "shoot me please" box through the wall. Booooo.

Has gibbing. Cool.

Yeah a much more solid game, coming from a huge cynic who hates all computer games. I couldn't play long because my GIRLFRIEND was begging for me.

With that said, i'm probably not going to play it ever again. So...err.

I lol'ed. BTW you all just wait until Empires comes out with aircraft and 256X larger maps than your average CS map.

They had a demo version out for a long time, this is the proper one or version 1 as they call it. Anymore feedback from anyone?

It's good.
Not for everybody but a solid mod all in all.
I wouldn't call it the "best mod out there" though.

It's definately the most polished, with the most unique features not ripped straight out of HL2 itself. I was about to make a semi-negative post about the game, because I'd tried it but not really felt anything for it. But instead I went back for another game, and I'm seeing more of it now.

I would argue that Dystopia, in its finished state is better than any other mod out there. Of course, no other mod out there is "finished".

It is really a great mod - very polished with a great visual style and fun fast-paced gameplay! I just wish more people would play it - perhaps the release of version 1 will bring new people.

It does take a bit to get used to though - for new people, it's a good idea to run through maps solo to see what's what - and make sure to go into the hacking world by yourself, that can be a bit confusing at first.

The hacking seems awkward, I don't really see the point, I'd rather just take all the guns and load-outs and have a big death-match. I know this is completely ignorant but I don't like the objectives at all :\

I would. Im getting far more enjoyment out of Dystopia than any of those other mods.
