I got this E-mail from them a bit ago:

Dear Steam user,

This is an automated message generated by Steam account administration.

Your Half-Life Platinum Pack CD-Key (the number printed on the CD case which you were asked to type in after installing the game) has been found to be invalid.

The CD-Key you entered is:

You will not be able to play Half-Life Platinum Pack unless you provide a valid CD-Key.

To provide a valid CD-Key, double-click on the name of the game in Steam's "Games" window and then follow the given instructions.

Now, my family owns 4 copies of HL/CS, but I was NEVER asked to input my CD-key. I was able to play 1 game of CS after a long day of updating, and then it froze when the map changed. Now I can't connect to any games. It freezes when it says it is authenticating resources or some crap. Anyone else have this problem.

Steam'll get the key from the registry if it's already installed...

Maybe someone made one up and got yours?!

I think what happened was all those isntances of CS/HL were using the same key, the same thing happened to me. So when you installed it was trying to use an account that already had a cdkey to it. Did you create mroe tahn 1 STEAMID?

No, only 1 Steam ID, and only one copy of CS is installed on this computer. The other 3 are installed on other computers.

I will try again tomorrow to play, and hopefully they will have the bugs kinked out over the weekend....
