From my point of view (someone who didn't go) it wasn't as exciting as last year. It's good to have developers getting exposed for making generic crap that no-ones interested in.

They get to see people walk past the booths and say
"Oh **** me dead, another medal of honor game. Why don't EA just die in the ass"?

Besides its just a rumor, and I don't think that E3 would be cancelled because of one year being somewhat boring, its not like it costs that much money for a major game design company to display a booth in E3 and from the amount of gaming publicity it gets it would be stupid not to put display your game there if you could.

If Rockstar is not planning on showing anything next year then it may be because they won't have anything to show next year.

I'm sure E3 will be going on for many years yet ... the amount of positive comments I've read about it *everywhere*, even on news sites like the BBC, it's not going away. Plus why would ATARI pull out? They have had the largest banner across the front of E3 two years running!!

Besides that, you have to admit that most games shown at recent E3's have been rather mediocre and generic. E3 may not go away but it may become somewhat irrelevant in the same way the Comdex and CES shows have.
