if you can call this a defense:

EA representative said:
"There are places where cheat codes are free but those are on websites and those websites are making money by selling advertising. There'll still be a healthy business around hint guides, magazines, websites... I just look at the Marketplace as yet another extension of ways in which consumers are going to be able to access the content they want."

What he really means is that EA have looked at all the money Gamefaqs and co. make from advertising and have decided they don't want just a piece of the pie, they want the whole damn thing. With cream on top. And have decided we're going to pay for it.

But wait, it gets better. When pressed on whether EA are removing cheats for 360 games that are free on other consoles, all Lange could come up with was: "I don't know if that's right or not. That's not something I've actually gone in and researched."

**** off EA ..really they just bend over backwards to screw customers at every opportunity

They can't defend it. There's no defense for that. Unless money-grubbing no-lube ass-reaming of customers is a defense...where's AngryLawyer when we need him??!!

If customers are willing to buy ass-f*cking products (read: rehashes) like FIFA 07 and whatnot, they deserve it.

it's not just that ..if an ea game is multi platform you can bet that the xbox360 version will ship with less content than the other platforms because of the nature of the xbox marketplace ..tiger woods for example comes with no less than 12 fewer courses than the ps2 version which costs considerably less

Dead Rising,
Saints Row,

99.vikram, have you actually played FIFA 07, or are you just assuming? I ask because FIFA stopped being a rehash at 03 where they started playing around with lots of different settings.

If EA was a robot it would be Bender.

oh wait... Def. Robot: Clinical calculating machine with no emotion or conscience.

Scratch the word 'if' in that comparison.

See sig. Its surprising how useful my sig is now-a-days.

so they say that going to going to a webpage for cheat codes i sthe same as buying theyr codes cuz the site makes money?
now thats dumb, they forgot the fact you dont pay to see the codes and the ads dont hav nothing to do about (and I thought EA will know all about ad's)

anyway this cheats selling dont bother me since I am not even geting a EA game, and who ever spend money on that is a idiot

this world has gone mad...EA ************** you and *******

The day that companies stop incorporating cheat codes, only to be unlocked with money... is a sorry day in gaming history.

EA should burn.

EA know how to make money, that's all they are doing. If anything we should be blaming the gamers who buy the crap.

Well, I'm glad I'm not supporting them.

You know what's next? For games like Battlefield2/2142, you'll be able to purchase extra benefits for a small sum (from 1$ to 5$). An extra ammo clip, 10% extra health...

The gamers aren't going to be the people who make the company only allow bought cheat codes to work.

Nobody buys that crap, EA is forcing them to, want cheats? well you gotta pay for em

oh and if you want cheats for the same game on any other platform ..just look it up on the net ..no need to pay EA anything

Nobody buys that crap, EA is forcing them to, want cheats? well you gotta pay for em
Nobody is forcing anybody to buy anything, people choose to buy that crap and if it's selling then EA are going to continue profiting :upstare:

After the problems I've been experiencing in 2142 and hearing about the spyware, I am very disgusted with the company.

They need to get the message the gaming community hates them and a change is needed.

but the point about tiger woods still stands.

Why makes 360 payers pay for 12 courses that are otherwise included in other platforms.

You can't really stop EA and there bs ways, they take over franchises and destroy them. I have a really really hard time putting up with there shit and I don't even buy their games.

**** you EA. Go die in a fire.

They need to get the message the gaming community hates them and a change is needed.

and you think they will listen?

EA exect1:"hey a bunch of people dont like us"
EA exect2:"the sales of medal of honor:bling bling tiger woods special edition's are lower?"
EA exect1:"no"
EA exect2:"then forget it and keep working whit the ad department"

Organize an Anti-EA group........there's probably already one out there.
Links?

Um... I don't really see the problem with this. It's their product, after all.

Look at it this way, Numbers.

EA sells to non-XBOX360 consoles = Cheats still enabled, objects still avaliable etc.

EA sells to XBOX360 consoles = Cheats must be bought with REAL MONEY, objects must be bought with REAL MONEY etc.

Of course this only applies to certain games and objects, but, still...
