It says that I have successfully completed my download of spore creature editor, and lists the file size as being "0KB of 0KB". It refuses to allow me to delete the data that is there and re-download because *shock* there is no data there. When I press "play" it merely crashes.

**** EA.

I'm not sure how it all works, but can't you delete the file in safe mode? (F8 while booting your PC)

I don't know if it thinks you have it so it won't let you download it again.

Maybe try the EA forums troubleshooting - assuming it exists.

How are you attempting to delete it? Try a DOS prompt, preferably before Windows starts. Then re-download.

...

With the button that says "delete temporary files"? There was no option for me to download it in the first place. I've looked at the EA forums and it appears that almost everyone has this problem.

Well, now I've installed it, and can't run it. It just crashes immediately upon getting to the EA logo. The exception report says I'm missing some critical .dll file.

Wonderful.

Works fine for me... Guess i got some mad Hax0r skilz

Crashes for me after the EA logo...odd that the trial version worked and the full official one doesn't

Usually I type that missing .dll file into Google and it comes up with something like "DLLdownload.com" which gives me a link to the one I want to download. I bung it into the same folder as the program it needs and it usually works.

Then, use the keycode you got when you purchased it. The EADM didn't work for me either and I used the torrent. Hell, at first I couldn't even install EADM because it wanted 5 GB and didn't agree with the 3.5 GB I still had free. I understand that 5 GB is nice to have for a game download manager, but it didn't just recommend it, it flatout refused to continue.

I don't think Valve has much to fear from EA here.

EDIT: Ah, it filtered out isohunt, but I assure you that there's nothing illegal about this torrent, it's useless without a legal keycode.

I lol'd at people conned into buying a demo.

Wait, a poor-quality EA product and or service?

Never!

I got it to work, all I had to do was uninstall EAs stupid download manager!

What a joke! Their download manager isn't even compatible with the games it distributes.

I've heard you can copy the data from the full version into the demo folder and have most of the parts.

I've used the EADM for Hellgate London and now this and yeah it's trash. Just because I want it and its cache on another hard drive besides C it ****ing freaks out all the time and seems to always manage to reinstall itself back over on my C drive in program files. At least the cache goes where it's supposed to go... then there's the whole 'you have to buy an extended download service just to get it for 2 years' thing... sad.

Heh the one time I bought something through EA store EDS cost $0

I simply uninstalled Download Manager, restarted computer and it fixed this exact issue.

I never installed it in the first place, downloaded the creature creator without it. They warned me not to do that, but I don't trust EA one bit.

And now I have cancer.
