Electronic Arts knocked $10 off the PC download of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - and someone else found a promo code that takes an additional $20 off - for any game - making it $19.95 until the end of the day.

The offer is good over the EA Store; enter PAXEAST842 in the promo code field to take the extra $20 off. The code also seems to be good for any other game purchase in the store, PC or retail. I applied it to Mass Effect 2 and EA Sports Active and it was still valid.

EA says the $10 off BFBC2 ends today. The site says nothing about the PAX promo's expiration but one can assume that it lasts only as long as the Expo, which ends today.

Thanks to breadtruck for spotting this.

it works I just ordered Dragon Age:Awaking for a total of $21.70 after tax

edit so yeah you can get Mass Effect 2 for $17 or Bad Company2 for $20

GO GET!!!!

Download store only? Or can I buy something for the 360?

I don't get it. Also, how come unozero never thinks about what he writes before hitting reply?

I'm guessing it's a G1 phone. Get it now? It's like some kind of pictorial. The world in pictures tonight at 5pm. That LOL pic gets me every time. JESUS

yeah theres nothing i want from that store. if dante's inferno scored higher i'd probably get it but finish mass effect 2 and i'm about 15 hrs into dragon age (yawn)

I downloaded Dragon Age Awakening and of course it didn't install because Steam hates anything you don't buy directly from Steam. I tried activating the key in Steam but it said it was invalid. Anyone have an idea what I need to do?

You probably can't register it on steam then. You can still add it through "non-steam game" option.

You need to go to every forum on the internet and claim that something something Steam DRM valve DRM customer is the enemy.

I don't even know what you're implying.

I can't install it because it says the original isn't installed. Is there a way I can change the directory it looks to for the game? Or I could create the directory and move the game there so I could just install it.

edit: Oh I got it... just copied the game to the EA folder and it installed... I think now I can just copy the expansion installation to the steam folder and it'll work all the same... hopefully...

I put Dragon Age Awakening in my shopping cart, and entered the promo code. It is $19.95 with shipping. OP says that the promotional code might not work after the Expo. I cannot buy the game until tomorrow, but do you think the discount price will still be there tomorrow?

In my experience at other retailers, they can indeed take it out of your cart, or adjust the price after you've put it in your virtual cart.

:O

I have ME2 and Dragon age "AND" bought them at full price, makes me want to wait a few months after release to get some savings. Dammit you use to wait a whole year before a price drop or buy one second hand fro a ridiculous price tag. Oh well at least I dont have BF: bad comany 2 yet.

I tried applying the code but nothing happened. I was trying to get something for free so I picked something that was $20.

i tried something for free too but i think it has to be over $20 for it to work. like try one of the need for speeds @$29 i think it'll work

I has to be $39 or more. It won't work for Mass Effect 2 (at $37) or whatever else is below $39.

edit: Looks like ME2 is down to $30. Not motivated to get it though. Gotta stop buying everything that's shiny in front of me... :D

So I put in all my info, went to check out, clicked paypal, and then the page glitched up on me. I pressed refresh and got some error. This sucks.

Edit: I tried many times, same thing happens.

Isn't the EA Store the one that removes your right to download a purchased game after the first year?

I guess I should burn this on to a disk... though I'm sure that's against their terms of service...

I was tempted to get DA, but the fact that EA store is that much inferior to Steam, I decided it was a bad idea. I suppose I could of ordered a hard copy, but then I'd have to wait, and waiting is so 2000's.
