Pretty you won't be banned from playing games if you are banned on the EA forums.

Mkay EA is going off the deep end

According to a post in the Red Alert 3 forum by 'eeapoc' (Apparently, C&C Community Manager Aaron Kaufman) EA is implementing a new policy that will tie your forum login to your Master EA Account. If you get hit with the ban hammer for misbehaving in a forum, you could find that you are locked out of your purchased games as well.

From EA:

"Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since its all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It's all one in the same, so I strongly recommend people play nice and act mature."

"All in all, we expect people to come on here and abide by our ToS. We hate banning people, it makes our lives a lot tougher, but its what we have to do.

Those banned will stay banned, but like most other internet services, its not that hard to create a new fake e-mail account. However, its a lot harder to get a new serial key =)"

TL;DR
If you get banned on the EA forums you get banned from ALL your EA games
You figure Red Alert 3 and Spore are about 50 bucks right now
You get banned from the forums then from your games there's 100 bucks down the drain

EA is going to be facing a total hell here VERY soon

next plans of EA

next plan
if you dont post in the forums you will be considered inactive user so your games will not be avaible since are not being used

some months after that
you must pay to suscribe into the forums, and since be suscribed in the forums is needed to play the game it means you must pay extra money

and them some months after
you must pay to make a post in the forum meaning not posting no paying so making your account inactive like your games

You online get banned from the online elements of the game, for RA3 anyway (not sure about Spore).

It's pretty much the same system Steam uses with VAC, you get banned from one, you get banned from all VAC games.

Linking it with their forum though is kinda stupid, I don't use them anyway.

Oh wow, what the hell.
People wonder why I hate EA so much.

Communist EA reporting in, the motherland will soon own the entire industry, enslaving our people to work on crappy games that you dont even own after you buy it, everything belongs to the motherland, either you are for us or against us, those who gives constructive criticism towards her is a traitor and will be banned, you shall only be allowed to install and play games as the state allows it, only cowards refuse our might. All comrads hail the glorious securom!

I love how people always go "OH NOW EA HAVE DONE IT!" and yet they continue to make billions of dollars every second

gg chaps

It's now up to the general followers of EA to go cry so more. This one chooses not to tread on EA ground, this one is wise.

Just don't use their forums, sheesh.

Kinda making it a bigger deal than it is.

If the forum was IN THE GAME and you started doing racist comments and got banned (breaking the TOS) - you are asking for it, just because the forum is outside the game but still run by the same company/TOS doesn't make it any different.

I updated the post as it had out of date info ;)

Yes, this is obviously going to stick. Because banning people from ever playing your games again is the best way to increase future sales.

Well of course, there's no way to stop it, just like Wal-Mart or any other Juggernaut.

Hell, all of us buying L4D are supporting EA by doing so.

So valve bans you from all VAC games if you get banned from one game?
Does anyone know how many times VAC gives false positives?

It's pretty much the same system Steam uses with VAC, you get banned from one, you get banned from all VAC games.

That is a false claim, as i can assure you myself. I was banned by vac on CS 1.6, however im not banned by vac in any other games i own on steam, including CS Source

Good good. Yet another reason not to buy EA games anymore.

Ah but still Rio if you get banned from one you're banned from all thus you gotta make a new account
Not that hard i know but still
