A company is a group of employees.
Yeah, but a companies dick-headed policies aren't dictated by the bulk of their employees. Remember, EA employees have gotten reamed up the ass many times in the past by the powers that run EA. They're the power behind EA, but they're not what makes EA the dick company it is. The head honchos are.

Giving the nod isn't the same as being responsible for what a great piece of work it is.
EA funds some damn good games and have given the nod to them in the past... but I don't feel they deserve the credit for those games. And doing so certainly doesn't redeem them in my eyes.

Wait wut? EA doesn't deserve credit for the games it makes? Say again? The people that make the games are EA employees. Saying EA games are good is a credit to the developers.
I don't think anyone is forming an opinion about an entire company based on one video but it was a good video. And now there's this one video and people are going, "Oh man, EA has possibly changed. I feel they're redeemed a good bit".
They have been redeeming themselves for some time now. Maybe you missed the memo.
This is true. EA has come a long way lately. I think their biggest downfall was pushing games out the door before they were complete, but now that doesn't seem to be the case. They've also been very serious about introducing a handful of new and creative IPs.
