Thought i'd make a thread seeing that football (American version :p ) is just starting.
i'd pick the Patriots but theres been many changes with that team.. players lost due to free agent signings etc.
even the coaching staff has changed a bit too and often changes in a team take a while to adapt to.

im not picking the Pats to win it all but im not betting against them either...the last 2-3 seasons have told me so :)

my pick? the Colts.
if its not gonna be the Pats, it'll be the Colts year!! ;)
well hopefully.. i enjoy watching the team.. exciting offense and all and it would a nice change if for once the focus was on offense instead of defense.

i hope that Philly crashes and burns with Owens right in the middle of it all

and oh...if u don't watch/like American football, thats great i don't wanna hear it.. i hate when these threads turn into "rugby > football" flamefests.

if u wanna talk rugby.. go make another thread
thanks.

Steelers FTW, and I think that my team (The Vikings) have a good chance now that we lost Moss, Nate Burleson seems to have enough ability to replace him but we might have to use Michael Bennett more now and get our running game up.

But all in all, I pick the Steelers

i think the Steelers are a good team and will go to the final four but i dunno.. i think stops there for the Pitt :p

Colts baybee!!!!

the area the i live in supports the bucs, but i have lost any to all respect for them. i guess that i'll chose the broncos and if they got rid of jake then they might be able to beat the colts imo.

yeah hes still with the Pats so the QB position is solid.
and Teddy hasn't retired for good btw.
he has to take the year off and well.. after that he expects to return but i guess we'll see about that.

i thought there were alot of Eagles fans here? hmm....

not after the T.O. incident..

TAMPA BAY ALL THE WAY YEAAAAAAAH BABYAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think that tampa bay (being a resident myself) has been going to hell (in a sense) after their superbowl win...i just cant watch them anymore, i remember when all the teams feared facing the tampa bay defense, now its "tampa bay, pfft easy win". tony dungy was the best at setting up the ground work, jon just put a spark that tony could make.

I agree, most of our defense just quit, but I'm hoping for the best.

derrick brooks, anthony mcfarland, mike alstott, and ronde barber are the only reasons that i still call myself a bucs fan

The Pats won't do anything this year unless the Red Sox win the division

thats right, pats and the red sox won at the same time, i dont really pay much attention to baseball since the devil rays are really horrible

Yep, and I doubt that the Red Sox are going to have much luck this year, the Yankees and Athletics are doing really good.

hey they have alex smith now...if that helps

yeah true. still skeptical though. but then again maybe he is our next montana :imu:]

im also excited for Aaron Rodgers, a QB drafted to green bay. hes from my town! :) hope he does well

Well, the Redskins will continue to play poorly I'm sure. As long as I've lived in Virginia (6 years now)I can remember hearing, "They should be pretty good this year!" but they haven't, even with Joe Gibbs, our supposed miracle-worker. Oddly enough the 'Skins still have a huge fanbase. It's almost impossible to get tickets to even a preseason game.

Umm the Pats have won 3 out of the last 4 superbowls, whereas the RedSox only won last years World Series. I think they can do it.

GO BRUINS AND CELTICS!!!!11 lololol

And all those years the Red Sox finished behind the Yankees with a great record and most years have won the wild card

hmm...i have been wondering about this for a while and im hoping one of u Americans can answer it.
why are the Dallas Cowboys "America's team" ?? i have been hearing that ever since they won their first super bowl in the 90's and since then.. its always been "America's team" :|

why the Cowboys?
why not the NY Giants?
why not the Minnesota Vikings?
why not SF 49'ers?
hell, why not the Green Bay Packers?!?!? of all fans, the Packers fans seem to be the best ones in the NFL, so why the Cowboys and why not one of the other 30 or 31 teams or however many teams there are in the NFL. :p

hmm...so no American here can answer why the Cowboys are America's team?
thats weird :P
someones gotta know!

Steelers - Hines Ward, The Bus, Roethlisberger, Willie Parker, Joey Porter, Troy, Farrior an d so on.

Cowboys!!! big fan but i kno that they are gonna be terrible this season!! but i still love em

Oh how I wish my offensive Rams could go.. I won't be surprised if they do.. :)

They went to the 2nd round of playoffs this past year. They have a great chance to go all the way with their upgraded defense.
