I can't believe there isn't a thread about it, so I made one. April 22th, 2005 = Earth Day. I hope it means something for you, the importance of it. I would suggest you to make ten times the effort you do to keep the environment clean. Avoid to take the car today, walk or take your bike

Earth Day. I've heard about it but never participated. Im not sure what I can do. Its really sad to see the Earth being totally disregarded. Earth day is good, but I generally try to be environmentally minded ALL the time. Problem with America is, we're not nearly as compact as Europe, everything's a lot more spread out, so biking or walking often isn't an option.

True. I think that Americans are just lazy too. We're all over-weight here. I think we could stand to benefit from walking or riding a bike.

Yeah, I do try to ride my bike as much as I can - I just wish it was easier, I really do not enjoy going though massive 4 lane intersections on a bicycle.

You know what sucks? Earth Day has sort of become a politically-centered day. Way back when it used to be a day when you'd go out and do stuff, like community service. Now people use it to argue about environmental issues. :angry:

Actually, if you are going to go, take the bike, because it's the most energy efficient form of transportation known to man.


One time a college had a MPG contest, and some students won with a self driving bicycle that got 2000+ MPG.

I was supposed to go to this beach cleanup thing tomorrow (well, it's more of a dirty creek than a beach) but the two teachers that were supposed to come with the group bailed out. "We're too tired! Waaa!!" That means no adult supervision (well, technically, I could be an "adult" since I'm 18, but no one will believe that....). No more picking up trash at dirty dirty creeks or getting to wear some spiffy orange disposable gloves (that they take back at the end) or planting grass .

....uhh.... Happy Earth Day! Go pick up trash! Yay.

i actually noticed more vehicles on the road today, like the population of my city decided to go out of their ways to abuse the environment just a little extra. i bet half of them didn't even have a destination, just out driving for the hell of it.
