EB and Nazi prices

Throughout that past few years, when i've gone to buy games, i've checked a number of computer stores at my local shopping centre (mall). here in australia EB is incredibly expensive. last game i bought was Battlefield Vietnam. at EB it was going for $99.95 (australian dollars) while at another computer/electronics shop it was going for $79.95. when you people are buying, be sure you don't get ripped off by dodgy EB nazi's. i'm wondering if it's just in australia, or even in america that they nazify their prices.
 
Everywhere I've gone, they've been about the same prices as other places. Never lower though, I'll grant that.
 
If you're buying video games from Nazi's, you should thank your lucky stars they're only ripping you off monetarily, and not stuffing you in an oven after your purchase. So yeah, I think describing EB as Nazi's is a tad over the top.
 
hahaha sorry, ok... they're "overpricing bastards"

but is it just in australia or are their prices bastard overpriced all over the globe?
 
ive had the same experience, yeah it happens, it really depends if their on some type of national pricing thingy.

I'm in Melbourne, everytime i go shopping at Southland Shopping centre, i check out EB and Harvey Norman always have games $20 cheaper. if EB specialise in gaming, you'd assume that they'd give you cheaper prices and retail type stroes like harvey norman would be dear as, but it's the complete opposite!
 
No harm done, I was just poking a bit of fun. But I don't know about their pricing here in the states. I haven't stepped foot in one of their stores for ages. Though as I recall, they always had higher than average prices in the past. That probably remains true today, but don't quote me on it.

now now, we're discussing bastard prices not ww2 so let's not get into it.

but, could somebody explain to me, why do people still order from EB when they're overcharging pricks?

i'm trying to spread the word for people to get better priced copies of HL2
 
i feel your pain i live in Australia and i always use EB as a last resort. i often find myself in target for a half resonable price. :rolleyes:
 
I love EB, any place where u can play a game for 7 days and take it back if u don't like is fine with me, try that at Target! AND EB will always price match. (well the stores in Adelaide, AUS anyway)

just bought HL2 Gold... $165AU once adjustment from $US so please you Americans no complaining about high game prices!!!!!

EB here in Canada (Toronto specifically) is generally okay.
hmm...but i do wanna say that here it generally is a store by store thing.. cause i remember some downtown EB stores were cheaper than other ones but EB stores in general sell games cheaper than say Futureshop.

Futureshop is probably Austrailia's equivelent of over-pricing bastards EB :p
anyway...can't think why EB would over price by $20...i mean thats really outpricing urself away from customers, no?

In Queensland, at a Target store Max Payne 2 is $99.99 Australian Dollars. But in a K-mart store just a few stores down sells Max Payne 2 for $40... Different stores have different prices
 
The EB and Gamestop in my area both have the same price basically. Then again, they are both in the same mall, so I guess it wouldn't be too smart to charge more for something where theres someone a couple steps away that has it for less. One sad thing is Best Buy had Doom3 before either Gamestop or EB....
 
but the thing that annoys me is, EB and gamestop and stuff are game shops that sell only games, they specialise in games, logic says that the prices SHOULD be cheaper, not dearer
 
I went to an EB once

The prices we're $5-$15 more expensive then my local gamestop

Buy hl2 through steam... its 57€ = 69US$
 
i dont know if you all know this... but a few years ago, barns and noble bought all EB, Software etc. and babages stores... and they have since (well most ne way) become Gamestop.com.

yeah, the store still makes a profit. all they want to do is move stock out etc or they just feel like it :rolleyes:
